Lets show America what is going on in both houses.
I think it would be a hit and people would see what
is going on.
It does not have to be boring like CSPAN.
It can be done like a 48 hours special.
You can follow a bill to the end and see various GOOD speakers.
You can vote on line and contact your congressman or Senator before the vote.
I can be done with suspense and excitement.
Then we can expose the phonies before they pass a stupid law.

2. Yea know, that really is a very good idea.
As long as Diebold isn't tabulating the votes.

Certainly, it would be interesting to have a website that tracks the bills up for debate in Congress....have the pros/cons archieved as audio/visual files and allow people to "vote" on their preference. It would be meaningless, of course, but it would provide insight and allow some level of voter participation. Of course, the "vote" would need to be freep-proof", maybe register your IP address or something that limits one person from voting 500 times.

Who knows? Maybe that would spark some real interest in the American electorate on the nuts and bolts of where Republicans/Democrats stand. I doubt DeLay, Frist, and Hastert would like it much.......

3. Thanks for your reply
Your right about the on-line vote.
It could be freeped.
Maybe that need work.
But I think seeing what is going on in the Senate and congress would be a good thing.
Even if the evening news (Local) would at least cover what there Senator or congressman's speeches---the whole thing, not just 3 sec clips.
And the whole thing could have a political bend. That would ruin it too.
But, if they could take a bill and clearly show it in depth, pros & cons and all, I think America would better understand the following:
1) Everything in a bill, besides the title
2) Who a bill benefits
3) How they are screwing us
4) Who are GOOD politicians
5) Who sucks
6) Who to vote for and who not to vote for next time
7) what rights are being taken away
8) Whats hiding in a bill
9) Who wants the hidden agenda
I am sure other could come up with more
With all the new participation in this last election and given the tense atmosphere. I think people would watch. I know a lot of people would watch on our side.
The chat rooms for this program would be jammed.

4. It's such a good idea, maybe you should repost in one of the
Group pages....maybe the Democracy for America Group. There are lot of people on board who have the webspace and talent to host and make it work.....the idea is unique and could be a better choice than creating another blogspot to compete with the gazillion that already exist. Hell, maybe Skinner would be interested in this.

5. Call it "Our Voice" or something catchy
Really could be a winner, I think. Key would be to mantain some semblance of nuetrality.....hard to do, I know. But maybe this is a way for people to self educate themselves on the issues and laws being in Congress.

6. I think they tried it a couple of times and those shows
bombed in a matter of weeks. Maybe they need the right writers and cast.

8. Bug Eating for Bills
I can see it now. The vote on a new bill will be determuined by which party can eat the most Roaches.
