1. 1183?
Or did you mean 1138? (Are you a George Lucas fan?)

Sorry, this noob doesn't get it...

5. The majority of Americans are totally numb to this and DO NOT CARE.
I am convinced of this, otherwise why did that little freak win?

7. REMEMBER 9/11!!!
These soldier casualties are regrettable but we're going after the "folks" who "knocked those towers down". And half the country thinks exactly that.

12. Uggghhh
Completely unnecesary and utterly futile. The media is to blame, an accomplice to the war machine.

10. They do care...
They're intimidated by fear and think * will save them.

They think we are truly liberating those countries (I don't see any real evidence of that, do you?) and are calling the insurgents animals for fighting. Nor do they understand if we tell them that if we were invaded and attacked (reversing the situation).

I wish there was evidence. I wish everybody had been honest. But Bush is right on one thing, flip-flopper that he is: America is in danger. But not entirely for the reasons he is promoting.

16. Your post is right on the money but I still think that most Americans do
not have any feelings for those that are killed over there daily. They will say, "How sad." etc., but are not really effected in any way. So they go on about their daily little futile lives without a real scrap of concern for any soldier or civilian that is killed. (Oh well, not me, my child, spouse. lover, parent, or pet.)

6. It's like the first line of Ford Madox Ford's "The Good Soldier":
This is the saddest story I have ever heard.

9. "When will this country WAKE UP??"
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 08:47 PM by Minstrel Boy
If it hasn't yet, I don't know when.

Some thought a thousand deaths would do it. Okay, well then...10,000? I doubt it. 100,000 maybe? A million or two? Because God knows, this war - Iraq and future battlegrounds - will never end, so long as these fascist fucks reign.

Is America sleeping, or is it worse than that?

15. Iraqi's -
aren't we supposed to be liberating them? I think your number is much greater after this week. What a cruel world.

14. I saw a blurb on the news tonight about a...
...fallen Marine. Stories like that are coming in daily.

And what of the Iraqi dead too?

Thousands of people paying with their lives for this ill-advised, aggressive war, for Junior's personal agenda. It sickens me. It sickens me that people from this country voted him back into office. It sickens me that the sheeple believe he's made them safer. That's one of the most chilling thoughts of all.
