My Cable "News" Addiction Has Been Cured
Ever since Black Tuesday, I've had no desire to watch Chris Matthews wrap his lips around the base of Bush's cock.

Go figure.

The more their ratings fall, the better.

3. I've stopped watching too
I was too disturbed by the cable news coverage of both campaigns. Everything has been dumbed down too much. If you read the news on the web (NYT, WP, LAT etc.), you learn nothing from cable news other than immediate onsite coverage of breaking news. The pundits don't know anything more than what you have already read.

In essence, I got no more insights or analysis and alot of biased hack jobs from both sides. Too disappointing and way too tiring.

So my family turned it off, and things have been much more relaxing since. I don't see us going back.

4. Me too!!! After all, they are so predictable, what are we really missing?
Given any topic, they are sure to shill for *. I really don't need to see that anymore.

15. We are not missing anything
I find myself not getting as upset as when I did watch the cable news. I have deleted them all and the Christian channels too. I can't stand to look at Robinson or Fawell(spelling).

Even your food tastes better.

What a farce it all is.

6. I stopped a long time ago
because I long ago decided that they are completely worthless. The only time I watch is when I know there's going to be a guest that I particularly want to see.

Oh Comcast, Comcast, when are you going to get it through your heads that I've stopped paying my cable bill? When are you going to finally shut my cable off?

8. I'm turning in my cable box
tomorrow. Will miss Keith and Jon but that's about it. If I need to watch a movie I'll rent one.

(unless I chicken out and do the 'just one more pack and then I'll quit' routine).

9. Mine too.
I turned off MSNBC when they called OH for **. I haven't watched CNN in awhile , and I've never watched Faux. I even stopped watching Olbermann, but tuned back in when I heard he'd be covering electile dysfunctions. I never stopped watching the Daily Show. I don't miss it at all.

10. CSpan is a better bet, I am boycotting Faux, CNN, MSNBC, etc
you know, they know when we are watching. now that so many of us have TIVO, John Asscraft knows our television watching habits just as well as our library habits. I have turned them off, paid my TIVO bill, and rejoice that they know I am not watching.

12. Same here!
And I feel much better for it!

I have barely turned the TV on since Nov 3. No Tweezer, no MSNBC, no CNN, no Russert, Stephanopoulos, no nuttin'!!! It's great, believe me. My house is quiet and serene.

This is a huge change for me because I was really, really hooked.

I may sometime allow myself to watch Olberman, but I'm not really in the mood for television right now.

13. Me, too.
Ever since Nov 2, I have not watched any news on cable or the networks. I don't miss it at all. In fact, the house is now calm and quiet. I am beginning to feel cleansed. It is like being rid of an addiction.

14. until we reclaim the airwaves for some semblance of truth
and objectivity, watching them, buying from their advertizers, etc...is just perpetuating a system that's running at top speed away from fairness, and toward complete and total corporate whoredom.

The fight for this country needs to be as much or more about winning the fight for PUBLIC airwaves as it is about who sits in the WH. If we can't take back the media we'll never have a hope of reclaiming political sanity in the country.

17. I used to watch those channels for "research" purposes
to see what the rest of America was seeing. After black Tuesday though, I believe my research is completely. These channels must be elimnated at all costs. Its pure propoganda.

19. I am cancelling cable tomorrow morning!
AND quitting smoking again! (I started up on election eve after having quit for ages)

The only problem with cancelling cable is I will never be able to turn on the TV at all, since I'd be stuck with network news, which is just as bad. I hate them all.

20. stopped watching after Nov. 2
I have always been a news "junky", for as long as I can remember, but ever since Nov.2, I just can't stand to see the sight of or stories about *. I'm not missing the "screaming heads" shows one iota, either.
