Given the recent report that Arctic ice is melting twice as fast as previously thought, the alarming Pentagon report etc. the 'candidates' obsessed on the "war on terror". Yet this is the issue that threatens the planet as no other. As Speth states, "We need a movement, a powerful new force akin to the civil rights movement of the 1960s."

Global warming a dire threat, ex-presidential adviser says

Global warming "poses the most serious threat to God's green earth that we have seen so far," a former environmental adviser to Presidents Clinton and Carter warned yesterday in Louisville.

At a Festival of Faiths breakfast, James Gustave "Gus" Speth, dean of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, spoke of dire environmental and economic consequences later this century if global warming isn't checked.

He said some of the uncertainty about global warming has diminished in recent years, and now there's a greater need for people of faith and others to lead politicians in state capitals and Washington, D.C., toward a reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions, which many scientists identify as the main culprit.

Speaking to about 150 people at the Galt House, Speth said some people and businesses — and state governments — already are taking the matter seriously, while adding that it hasn't been enough.

When the earth floods from the melting ice caps, Nasa (under strict orders from the president) will build a modern day Noahs Arc, Christian groups will go around the globe collecting insects and animals spreading the word of jesus and warn locals of all the horrors that are coming. The Arc will take off from the grand canyon (as you know its now a biblical landmark) and with all our new space travel technology the Arc will hover in space until all is well on planet earth.
