Bush Promises Europe Trip to Heal Divide
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041112/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_europe&e=1

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) said Friday he'll carry a message of shared values and goals to Europe during a trip planned after his inauguration, reaching out to those dismayed by the Iraq (news - web sites) war and what they see as a go-it-alone foreign policy.

"In my second term, I will work to deepen our trans-Atlantic ties with the nations of Europe," Bush said during a joint appearance with British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) at the White House. "We must apply the combined strength and moral purpose of Europe and America to effectively fight terror and to overcome poverty and disease and despair, to advance human dignity and to advance freedom."

Bush said the trip would take place "as soon as possible" in 2005. Later, a senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it was likely to come in February and that a stop in Brussels for meetings at either the European Union (news - web sites) or NATO (news - web sites) or both was also likely

Oh boy! We're going to share our "VALUES" with the rest of the world now! :eyes: How about healing the freaking divide here at home first, bungwad!

1. So he'll unite the world with him and still leave Dems aside if we don't
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 05:16 PM by HypnoToad
back him 100%?

Yeah, right.

This is just another vacation paid for by the taxpayer just so he can go around the world and have the the civilized world worry about us even more.

And while * talks of overcoming poverty, I find it odd that he supports the very entities which CREATE and worsen poverty. (If I wasn't HMO-phobic before, I sure as halliburton am now!!)

2. always on the search for new records
Most people in a democratic country protesting against a western politician?
Most policemen deployed to protect a western politician?
Least approval for a state visit?

Almost certainly he'll top those three records and a few more. Never mind that he already holds quite a lot.

4. Isn't this a "mixed metaferr?"
One would "strengthen ties", or "deepen the divide."

So, which is it, shrubby?

My first reaction is the same as yours: "Better take care of that problem of yours at home first. Go home, ugly American imperial chimp."

"Soldier: 'Allo! 'Oo is it?

Arthur: It is I, King Arthur, and these are my knights of the Round Table. Whose castle is this?

S: This is the castle of my master, Guy de Lombard.

A: Go and tell your master that we have been charged by God with a sacred quest. If he will give us food and shelter for the night, he can join us in our quest for the Holy Grail.

S: Well, I'll ask 'im, but I don't think 'e'll be very keen-- 'e's already got one, you see?

A: What?

Lancelot: He says they've already *got* one!

A: (confused) Are you *sure* he's got one?

S: Oh yes, it's ver' naahs.
(to the other soldiers:) I told 'em we've already *got* one!
(they snicker)

A: (taken a bit off balance) Well... ah, um... Can we come up and have a look?

S: Of course not! You are English types.

A: Well, what are you then?

S: (Indignant) Ah'm French! Why do you think I have this out-rrrageous accent, you silly king?!

Galahad: What are you doing in *England*?

S: Mind your own business!

A: If you will not show us the Grail, we shall take your castle by force!

S: You don't frighten us, English pig-dogs! Go and boil your bottoms, son of a silly person! Ah blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur Keeeng"! You and all your silly English Knnnnnnnn-ighuts!!!

(the soldier proceeds to bang on his helmet with his hands and stick out his tongue at the knights, making strange noises.)

Galahad: What a strange person.

A: (getting mad) Now look here, my good ma--

S: Ah don' wanna talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal food-trough wiper! Ah fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!

Galahad: Is there someone else up there we can talk to?

S: No!! Now go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!"

8. Who is he gonna talk to?
Everyone outside of this country hates his guts! He is hitler in Europe. I would be really worried about security if he goes to talk with Bush puppet also known as Tony Blair.

Hope he is protested and hope they do tell him in no uncertain terms, that they don't want him there. Costs a lot for these people for one of his photo ops.

15. What an idiot.
"In my second term, I will work to deepen our trans-Atlantic ties with the nations of Europe," Bush said during a joint appearance with British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) at the White House.

You wouldn't have to work to deepen any ties if you hadn't obliterated them in the first place.

16. Yeah Yeah Yeah!
That's what the @$$hole claimed to want to do here at home too. And how did he start it off?

By boasting he's got a "mandate" even though he won by a thin margin.
By rudely snapping at reporters who asked him questions he doesn't like, calling it a one-question rule enforcement.
And his fundie base is doing their "healing" by taunting people with different views, and gloating about Shrub's "victory".

Yeah. Some healing.

17. What a wonderful idea!
Although, if the "advance human dignity" bit is really serious, resignation would certainly be more efficient at a lower cost.
