New words we need to use against conservatives
I LOVE calling the religious nuts (Jerry Falwell ect) radical clerics! It is a great idea! Also, I have often called "pro-life" people anti-choice. I think we need to use "anti-choice" and "radical cleric" more often. These peopel are NUTS..dont give them a positive sounding term like pro-life. We need to frame the issue this way. "We all want to see abortion reduced as much as possible, we all want to come up with programs and ways of helping young mothers take care of children, we all want to get contraceptives ect to the public to limit unwanted pregnancies, but unfortunately there are some in the radical extreme of the Right Wing who would rather let big government chooose women's privAte health decisions instead of women and their doctors. We think women and doctors should make medical decisions, not big government!"

1. Don't forget "regressive" instead of "conservative."
And instead of pro/anti-choice, we need to use pro/anti-FREEDOM.

frame the issues here ourselves, DU!! The shitty crusty old DNC obviously has dropped the ball on EVERYTHING. we should come up with phrases and framing of issues here, and speak int his way to all politicians and media that we e-mail and communicate with. Speak this way at Dem Party meetings and gatherings, get the word out. If the DNC won't fix this party, we will just have to do it ourselves!

11. Yes, for starters
Radical right-wing extremists are not "conservative".

It's a bastardization of the term.

5. Beat them at their own game
This IS the way that they will be taken down. They cornered the rhetoric this election season, but we will have the next. The creation of spin will take them out, as it always has. Remember, most people aren't educated enough about politics, science, religion, or anything for that matter, to make educated decisions. This becomes the evil of spin. Adults, by and large, surrender their conscious minds to shoddy, polished up rhetoric in place of real thought. In truth, we won't be able to move forward until EVERYBODY does some thinking for themselves. But in the present, if we want to stop the New American Century from becoming the Fourth Reich, we have to fight dirty. These are the tools right here: rhetoric and spin.

7. YES!! We need to 'outGingrich' the Reich Wing and totally re-frame the
conversation about the future of this country!
"Radical clerics" is genius *lol*
I have used "anti-choice" myself for years; pro-life all too often means "pro-fetal-life-and-to-hell-with-'em-once-they're-born"

"regressive" is also a great one, good thinking

What else can we come up with?

ideas. The problem is we are always all over the map. We don't stay on message or talking points.

We need to frame the election issues about the integrity of the voting systems and voter confidence. We get dismissed when people make arguments without facts and evidence to back it up.

The Repukes are experts at this stuff - "estate tax", no it is a "death tax".

We need to focus on how all this spending the Republicans are doing and don't care about (Dicky Deficits Don't Matter Cheney)are just going on our children and grandchildren's credit cards. That bill will come due and with interest.

18. Con versus conservative
We need words that are catchy and easy to remember, that also resonate with people. How about "con" to "replace conservative"? Whether or not the idiots in the white house are truly conservative or not, that is what they call themselves, and that is how the US knows them. I think "con" is a great word, because it is a diminutive of a word that is already in use and recognized, but also because it has a lot of negative connotations. Let's see: con artist, con man, ex-con... Ed Schulz uses "rightie" and "leftie" and I hate those words because the words right and left themselves are so loaded. Using that terminology automatically gives the extremists in the white house an edge because right means correct, true, just, and left means sinister. Left field, left of center, left behind, left out... Fascist and neo-con are great words for those who are educated, but the typical high school student doesn't know what these mean, and therefore neither will many adults.
