55 Million People Have No Voice on AM Radio!
And please don't talk to me about XM, or Satelite, or internet streaming. Hell, most Americans can't even program a VCR. Yet, there you have Rush and Sean Hannity right in the middle of election day looking at exit polls and telling their Bushbots in Pensacola, Orlando, Cincinnati, etc "you better get out and vote".

I have sworn off talk radio. I used to listen because I thought it was important to know the enemy, but it's pointless. They have no enemy. They OWN THE PUBLIC AIRWAVES.

It's like broadcasting a football game, but only when your team has the ball, or are winning.

It is obviously not the "market system". If they gave a crap about profits they would realize that there are 55 million people that have no place to turn. I will not continue to add to their profits.

WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK WITH THE ONLY POWER WE HAVE. THE POWER OF OUR POCKETBOOKS.

2. We have 1200 & 1430 AM here in Boston now - "progressive radio"

They have AAR & Ed Shultz. Wish the stations had more power and I wish they were in more markets. I think they will do well and be all over the place before long though.

3. I don't think AAR could expand any faster than they are already
Zero to 39 stations in nine months or so? That's pretty damn good.

4. Yes - vast expanses of rural areas are only reached by RW hate radio
stations.

These people have been getting continually brainwashed for a really long time. I know, I grew up in one.

8. The popularity of Air American shows that there are...
...huge potential profits to be made by a liberal radio show on AM radio.

If the airwaves are truely market driven, here is an excellent opportunity for several shows to pop up.

PLEASE!? how can we make this happen? our country depends on it.

9. When our local Liberal - Lynn Cullen was broadcast on CSPAN
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 09:22 PM by RamboLiberal
WPTT 1360 AM Pittsburgh - 10AM-1PM M-F EST. http://www.1360wptt.com/

The week before the election she got inundated with thousands of mostly positive emails from all over the country saying Thank God - we never hear this kind of radio. How can we listen to you? How can we get you locally? What a breath of fresh air you are. I thought I was all alone!

So yes there is a market out there.

Lynn has apparently gotten some inquiries from some producers and there has been some talk of syndication - but I wonder now if it will go any where. Too bad she's on a little 5,000 watter.

From what she said her show caused the biggest stir of all the shows CSPAN broadcast during their radio week.

Be interesting to see if her station puts any one else liberal on since Monday they're losing O' Really to the station who's losing Limbaugh to a local FM all day Freeper station.

A lot of us lobbied the station to put a local guy name of John McIntire on or get AAR or Ed Shultz.
