Bush revives bid to legalize illegal aliens
Shouldn't this headline read:

"Bush revives bid to pardon employers who hire illegal aliens."

No doubt that will be one of the side effects.

This can't be a popular idea with his base...perhaps this is some of the "political capital" he intends to spend.

I dont like it because it just seems like "we give up...c'mon in!" I've always been bugged that illegal immigration is blamed on the immigrant...at the end of every illegal is white man offering him a job...THEY ARE THE CRIMINALS!!! Get them. Bush has just screwed thousands of Americans out of there jobs...\

So now - not only are we sending our jobs overseas...we are also bringing in foreiners to take any remaining jobs. All with BushCOs blessing...

4. Not nice
There's no need to slur the Mexicans who come here for work. They need help not insults.

6. Bullshit...
They need to be sent back or naturalized...and anyone who offers them an AMERICAN job should be prosecuted.

Congratulations, Republicans. George is going to build his permanent cheap-labor class. If your kids want jobs they can join the Marines.

2. Hahahahaha...
This is only to try to get Hispanic support while he tries to install the utterly unqualified Alberto "Yeah, we can torture POWs" Gonzalez as AssKKKroft's replacement.

but the bigoted pieces of shit who make up his core support will NEVER let him do this...scumbags like Musgrave have built their careers on demonizing Hispanic immigrants.

8. You only THINK they're his core support!
Bush has two bases: the one everyone thinks he has, and the one he really listens to.

The one everyone thinks he has is the fundies.

The one he listens to contains people like the Waltons, Bob Nardelli at Home Depot, Truett Cathy at Chick-fil-a, and Norm Miller at Interstate Batteries. I don't know Nardelli's religious leanings, but the Waltons, Cathy and Miller are all serious fundamentalists. This is who Bush really feels most comfortable with--people like him, fundamentalists with plenty of easily-accessible cash.

3. I have no problem with this.
I'm in favor of it. These people are already here contributing to society. For the most part they are hard working , honest people.

7. Except that they are working illegally...
American employers are giving jobs illegally to thses folks...every job an illegal takes is one less for an American...they pay them under the table...they dont pay taxes.

The employers who hire illegals should be prosecuted...

16. Why is it more importnat for an American to be employed
then for a immigrant to be employed.? If you think Americans are lining up to take the jobs these people are working then you haven't been paying attention.

Yes, they certainly DO pay taxes.

14. Sorry......
....this is one of the things I don't agree with when it comes to the liberal agenda that we have to be caring for illegals from Mexico. You are overlooking the fact that BushCo is simply outsourcing jobs on our own soil by encouraging bringing in folks willing to work for less than the average American. It's just another way of union busting and making the average person suffer for wanting a fair wage. The short sighted belief that we must show "compassion" for these people coming across the border is hurting the working poor who were born and raised here in our country and who are truly suffering. I won't even get into the security issues it raises as well.

17. I think you're wrong.
Your arguments don't hold water. I'm not overlooking anything . The people in question for the most part have been here contributing for a LONG time. They aren't taking jobs away from anyone.

The arguments against an amnesty for these people are straight out of the Conservative play book.

If Bush is able to accomplish this then I will have to admit that at least some good came about as a result of the stolen elections.

20. You seriously think......
........he's doing this for reasons other than greed and benefit to his buddies and their interests in some way shape or form? I think I'm starting to see how he pulled the wool over 59,000,000 people's eyes last Tuesday if he can at least get it onto your head......

5. The Freepers are getting pissed already!!!!!!!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1276123/posts

President Bush is already betraying the conservative base and the security of this nation. I knew this would be his number one issue after the election. So much for national security...Thank you for stabbing us in the heart, Mr. President.

Okay all you blindly loyal Bush supporters. Bush got re-elected as you wanted. Many of you said that if we all would just re-elect Bush he wouldn't try and ram this amnesty-lite program of his down Americans throat, against their will. Many of you also said you would deal with this after Bush was re-elected. So, how about it?! How do you plan to deal with it?! Or was all that talk just blow-hard bluster?!

Is THIS how he wants to spend his political capital? He's losing me fast.

And my favorite!

Our man and women are being killed and maimed in far off Iraq while the enemy is filtering into this country. And Bush dares to offer amnesty to these criminals. Sick. It seems the Democrats purposely threw the election. If they had focused on family values and protecting our borders they would have won big.

21. Those morons must have ADD
There was a TON of talk about this in March and April.......one day it was the top story on the news about Bush's overtures to Vincente Fox. They screamed and yelled for a couple days before getting back to the usual queer bashing and tax cuts diatribe.......

borders protected (from alien invasions and not terrorists), that want aliens out of the country are very, very pissed off!

You should have heard Mike Savage carry on about his hate for the weed and his "fake" christianity last night. It was a hoot!

15. I watched a clip on Lou Dobbs last night in which he was rather pissed
about the Indian outsourcing companies cheering a Bush victory. These outsourcing companies are going to push Bush to ease the visa restrictions so companies no longer have to outsource. People from India can just come over here to take an American's job. Lou was pretty pissed and in a smart ass manner said, "Well, we wouldn't want to make it hard for anyone to take an American job would we?"
