I feel a little more hopeful tonight for an honest election outcome
Before I go to bed I must say....I feel a bit more heartened after reading some of the threads here tonight, that the fight is not over and Democrats have not thrown in the towel....Bless you determined, unswerving Americans! You just won't give up your democracy without a fight, will you?....We here in Canada (and everywhere) are so thankful for you!!!....:loveya:

Nice smoke screen, if you can't deal with reality just point out some minor detail that is totally irrevelant.

If you bash on Dems in the first 10 posts, well, the rest of us aren't going to look too favorably upon you.:eyes:

Edit: We don't particularly like being called fascists, either.

You guys embrace Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity. They are pretty fucking fascist too. I'd be ashamed to think that they were the norm of my party if I were a Republican. Speaking of Hollywood whackos, how much more do you guys think you will trot out Arnold for all to see?

21. If you post on a 99% liberal message board with
"Mich3el M00re is evil librul commie pink0 tra1tor and teh reAson why fascist dem0ncrats lost ha ha," and expect people to treat you with any respect, you lack common sense.

If you don't like it here, then may I suggest http://www.usmessageboard.com/forums/. There you might actually find someone to agree with you.

22. Shouldn't you be praying to Jeezus right now?
The rapture is coming....you might have time to save your soul....

By the way - do you actually know what fascism is? I do - and so did my Grandparents who escaped from Nazi Germany....

When you figure out what it means, then you come back here and start lecturing people about it....until then, if you want to start off about nut jobs and extremists, you might want to go take a look in the mirror and think about what is motivating you to come to a forum like the DU and start attacking people like this.

Goodbye :hi:

You might want to do a little research into fascism before you start throwing around concepts that you clearly don't understand.

11. Nobody is relying on Michael Moore and Sean Penn
We were glad to see Moore's film hit the theaters, but we weren't relying on him to win the election for us. We raised a lot of money this time for our candidate and a lot of people got out there and knocked on doors and made phone calls. We relied on each other, Kerry and Edwards to try and win that election. And we might have done it because it appears that there was some voter fraud going on that benefitted Bush.

Who tells everyone that he is a good Christian. I quit going to church because of hypocrites like him. You talk about being small minded and you come on here to insult us. I cannot think if a more petty thing to do. You have real class.

So what? you had Herod - macho badass kickass man of faith and certitude. the one that loves to slaughter the innocents.

We had Jesus - intelligent, rational, strong, courageous, caring for people and with a healing bent.

Same old story.

Herod won this round. Did I say same old story?

Jesus has been trying to win for 2,000 plus years, but he pops up with his wins now and then and he never said the Creator doesn't like to challenge us to a duel. It's called free will and the Creator says: Choose YE well. doo doo doo doo DOOOOOO.

Hey at least we can agree we've all been fighting this battle on the planet for at least the last 2000 years...Herod vs. Jesus, South vs. North, Red States vs. Blue States. History repeats itself, and the Song remains the same.

18. No....our club doesn't allow fascists or losers....I suggest you go look
over at Freerepublic.com They love fascism and "Rednecks" is an inflammatory term that would be more accepted over there....

Funny that you think that the ultra rich and powerful elitists are two individuals like Michael Moore and Sean Penn, but you don't see anything wrong with a government and administration that has been lining its pockets with the ill-gotten gains from a war that sends out our poor soldiers from the heartland.

Bye bye Freeper troll....:hi:

23. Look Who Is Bugged!
Gets to you that this just won't die down, doesn't it? Guessing that's how you found your way here... Sucks when reality gets in the way of your world view, doesn't it?!!? If you are SO sure that Kerry really lost then why are your here? What ARE you afraid of? Right Wingers have been whining for years about how the Dems are always commiting voter fraud... well, here's your chance to put your money where your mouth is, so to speak: prove it! Seems to me that both "sides" of the fence should be yelling for investigation into the validity of this election outcome. Otherwise, it would appear that you care more about winning than about the truth!

Higher turnout from the highly populated urban areas.

Disenfranchisement kept tons of those votes from being counted.

There is no "mandate". It's a manufactured lie.

but there are also lots of us bluebellies in red states. Tn may have gone red, but here in Nashville it's very blue. Memphis is quite blue, too. It's not over, it's just beginning.

15. I burst into song -
They're rednecks
They're rednecks
They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground
They're rednecks
They're rednecks
Keepin' the niggas down
They are keepin' the niggas down.

- Randy Newman

I understand you are trying to help protect people who are uneducated for fear of greater tensions, I really do, but keeping them in ignorance is not the answer. None of us should dive so low to keep the status quo; but arise and in so rising, let others be lifted on the wings of the gift we give: the gift to be exactly who they are.

(with great respect for the poster who talked about her hardworking "redneck" family.)

Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 03:58 AM by kvining
Like most, I am hopeful that something might happen to change the outcome of the election, but let's face it - we lost the popular vote by 3 million votes. While it is conceivable that fraud could have happened in the one or two states that tipped the election, a fraud of 3 million votes is a real stretch. Lets face it folks, this party has real problems. We have totally lost the young white working class vote, the heart and soul of the democrat party since the Great Depression. We have allowed the Repugs to make big inroads into other constituencies as well. I really fear that this vote fraud issue is going to cause us to stick our head in the sand - we got clobbered, and it is time to face up to it.

The Repugs have become superbly organized, with a media machine that runs a 24/7 operation on message everywhere in the country, and it was this monster that has been stripping away the white working class voters from us for years, while we totally, totally missed what was going on. Instead of Winston's TV set on the wall in the novel "1984", the Repugs have converted the AM radio in the workingman's car into the same thing. The "talk show hosts" (aka Repug operatives) use the Internet to communicate among themselves to make sure they are all talking about the same thing all across the nation on any given day. They only peddle one thing - outrage - and they only blame one thing - us - for everything.

To ice the cake, they now have added a cable "news" channel in Fix, which spreads the same lies and makes them into headlines, and they are now making huge in roads into other cable news channels as well. With this massive multi-media machine, they have convinced average working people that we are not to be trusted. We have failed miserably at countering this.

Success breeds success. The most ominous thing I have seen here in Houston, is they are now putting "local" black right wing hosts on the air - what the hell, they got something that works, they stole our core constituency with it while we did nothing, and now they are going to do the same to the black people - saturate the airwaves with one message - we are terrorist loving traitors who want to kill god and let gays bang their kids. Its time to smell the coffee guys, we blew it. We need to learn from our enemies.

This is no longer win-lose politics in this country. These media techniques grew out of psy-op warfare research during the Cold War. Its meant to do the same thing to the Democrats that it was designed to do to the Russians- destroy us. They are going to smash us into three ineffective parties and rule America as a One Party State. Time to WAKE UP! Instead of obsessing on the ballot situation, we need to ask ourselves how we are going to build a media machine to counter this. They've also taken over CNN, MSNBC, via the boardroom. Those once friendly media outlets don't have the overt partisanship of Fox News, but they have turned into back stabbing bastards - the Sunday before the election, Tim Russet's Meet the Press savaged Kerry brutally and unfairly, running Swift Boat Ads as "news items". He did the exact same thing to Gore in 2000. If you follow mediamatters.org, you'll see all the mainstream media fucked us for some reason. We need to start recognizing that as part of the new reality too. Like the Repugs, we need to find some type of mass media to dominate and control.

If we don't get more organized and figure a way to get our message out in this new mass media environemnt of the Internet age, we are dead. First thing we need to start with is this website. There are so many threads and they are so poorly organized - hell it looks the Democratic Party - that it is incoherant. What a coincidence. Unlike the person who started this thread, I am not going to bed feeling better about things. If we don't wake up, we are screwed.

I also want to take a sec to strongly advocate that we do everything possible to put Dean in charge of the party. He is the one person who has an Internet age vision of how this party should work, and it is something his organization did a superb job of in his otherwise flawed campaign. Putting him in charge has nothing to do with his politics or viewpoints - I advocate it strictly because in the time I volunteered for his campaign I recognized they had tremendous skills in these areas, and man, we are going to need just those skills. We need to dominate the Internet the way the Repugs dominate AM radio. It is our only hope. I hope all of you realize what an utter disaster this election was for us and the huge task we have before us, and how if you really love your country you will give it all you got to change the entire direction of this party. We need to become organized, and cut back on the outrage and start thinking clearly. I fear this vote fraud thing will go nowhere. Our house has burned down, and only we can build another one.

28. also feeling more hopeful :D
I´m not American, so my English isn´t perfect, but hey, I´m trying, be nice ;) I am SO happy to see that there are American people who wont give up this fight and keep on fighting for the truth to come out!!!

The moment when Bush was re-elected, was really a nightmare come true for me, and it was for a hell lot of other people all around the world. I really really lost my faith in the American people. I could only think: how could they vote for this idiot in the first place? But now he got re-elected??? what is wrong with the American people??? Feeling kinda depressed the days after my nightmare coming true (yes.. that would be the re-election) wondering what was going on in this world, I started looking for some American opinions about the whole thing. And I´m so glad I did, because here it is: American people who are still fighting, and I am SO glad to see that, I really really love you guys for doing it :D

I really hope you guys will make this work. And the way I see it.. you are not only doing it for the sane 49% of America who voted for Kerry, you really are doing this for a really huge part of the rest of the world also!!! just remember that :D
