The John Kerry Supporter Thread
If he came out tomorrow and un-conceded everyone would say how much they loved him again. The problem here is that there isn't a 500 voted difference there is a 140,000 vote difference.

I am sure Kerry will support all efforts to seek the truth on this but really, he can't be viewed as the one instigating this. Give Kerry a break, he worked his tail off for us!

9. He's still in the fight
"Let me tell you one thing that I want to make clear," Kerry said in a brief meeting with reporters in the Capitol. "Fifty-four-plus-million Americans voted for health care, they voted for energy independence, they voted for unity in America, they voted for stem cell research, they voted for protecting Social Security. We need to be unified, and we have a very clear agenda. And I'm going to be fighting for that agenda with all of the energy that I have and all the passion I brought to the campaign."

Asked about his brother Cameron's comment, published in yesterday's Boston Globe, that it was "conceivable" Kerry would run for president again, the senator quipped: "I was intrigued by it. I called him up and said, 'Where did you get that?' " He added: "It's inconceivable to me that anybody is even talking about that stuff right now."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A37999-20...

Kerry has 4 more years in the Senate the timing would be right for him to run again. I'd like to see Kerry/Clark next go round.

29. What's killing me are the Conservative Radio guys
still saying he was a weak candidate, that he had no charisma, that we didn't really support him, only hating Bush.

I feel terrible for myself and the country and the world. But I also feel terrible for John himself. I'd have been gutted myself, thinking I was winning only to lose by so little.

He's NOT a failure. He came damn close. They won by getting the hate vote out and by suppression and by outright theft in some cases. I don't see what they have to be so proud of and how they can call it a "moral" victory.

Jesus is somewhere puking.

30. it was actually Bush who ran the anti Kerry campaign
their whole thing was about how Kerry was an immoral person without faith from the left wing state of massachusettes who was going to take away their bibles , enact gay marriage, abortion supporter etc. and that anyone who voted kerry would go to hell.

people who voted on actual issues that matter went mostly to kerry.

Bless her Kerry-votin' heart.

Actually a few people have come up to me since they saw my picture in the paper to say how sorry they were that Kerry lost, that they appreciated my work on his behalf, and that they'd voted for him. There were a few more Kerry supporters here than I know. That helped alittle.

I'm right here.
Unlike many politicians, both liberal and conservative, I still think John Kerry is a good and honorable man. I think he has access to better intelligence than we do, and I think if anything changes significantly, he'll pull his concession. I don't think that's possible, because BBV isn't just a matter of paper ballots being uncounted but physically present; they are GONE. They don't exist anymore. The BBV is not about saving this election, but the future ones.

We can keep creating this ideal for a politician, but we have to remember that they are human, too. They make mistakes, they are selfish, they're greedy, they're stressed and exhausted at times. I'm willing to give all of them the benefit of the doubt from time to time.

23. For the record: I support John Kerry and John Edwards - NOW.
I'm still hoping for the miracle to overturn this election. But even if that doesn't happen, I am convinced that the Fraud will be exposed, and America will open its eyes to the corruption, greed, and moral bankruptcy of this administration.

This is NOT something I am looking forward to. Or to put it another way, I'd much rather look forward to a painful visit to the dentist. But both have an ultimate purpose: to stop the decay and disease, and to bring about healing.

If we're going to get out of the mess in Iraq, and the horrible mess we've made with the rest of the world, we must look for ways to 1) stop the damage, and 2) heal all wounds (or as many as possible). We're a nation in Triage: first, do no harm. Amputate, if absolutely necessary. But spare the life of the patient.

That demands that we take the higher ground. If we become vindictive in our anger, we become no better than our enemy.

So, Go, Johnny, Go - I believe all will be made known.

the Kerry-bashing threads were pissing me off. I don't see what else he could have done. Obviously, a lot of the people here didn't really like him, otherwise, they wouldn't have turned on him so viciously. I'll admit, when he first conceded, I felt a little betrayed and I REALLY don't like that whole work w/ Bush tone he took but I'm not gonna crucify the guy for doing what he thought was best. The voting problems should be addressed because they're obviously a problem but if he hadn't conceded, he'd be in an equally bad position.

He still kicks ass... anyone who gives him shit must believe that he never wanted to president which is just plain crap.

He did not believe he could win and I have no doubt he is keeping tabs on the reports of fraud as well has lawyers working under the radar. This is best because otherwise the media and right would have destroyed Kerry and the democrats, hurting further chances.

If he ever finds that he can prove fraud and win the election I am sure he will be there.

concern from the candidate, we can't move forward."

I called Senator Bill Nelsons office on Florida and they said he was ready to sign on to the John Conyers request to investigate, but he was waiting for Kerry's lead?

Not sure what's up, perhaps he's waiting for more info and for the initial counts to be final?

It would be the end of his political career if he refused to concede given a 140,000 vote different. If there IS fraud, it is up to investigators to find it. And if fraud is found, he will unconcede very quickly. He is doing the right thing.

56. It's the 3.5 million vote difference that's stopping Kerry, IMO.
It's too much to overcome. I posted this on another thread but here goes again.

Kerry is smart. He holds his cards.

And we have had messages from his brother, from his stepson, and from E. Edwards. That's pretty significant.

Kerry knows exactly what he is doing. Kerry is a prosecutor. He may not believe that he can overturn this election, but I don't believe that he will let democracy slip away from us if he can help it.

Stop bashing Kerry because he doesn't say what we're saying. He can't say it. It wouldn't be wise, it wouldn't help.

Maybe some it is attributable to displacement (Freud's "kick the dog" theory). Please take out your anger on those who really deserve it: the Bush cabal.

As one member mentioned above, "Going Upriver", gives you an excellent view of what our candidate's true nature is. I hope that all of you get the DVD as soon as possible.

60. I went to see it in the theater
What a strange evolution I followed over the summer.

June - ABB

July - (reading up on ABB candidate) Hmm, not bad.

August - Thanks to smear vets, I discover his illustrious anti-war career, and get a foretaste of his debating skills. I start to develop something of a crush on our candidate, if only on his younger self.

Sept - Temple Speech and first appearance of the Incredible Hulk. Woo hoo! Getting excited now.

October -
-"The Closer" makes full appearance.
-Debates blow my socks off. I am now in the Kerry camp big time.
-By the end of October, I am actively trying to see the man at a rally, and getting upset when I can't get a ticket.
-I go to see Going Upriver. If possible, my esteem goes up even more to what can only be described as "Band of Brother" level. I would be part of that full crew who follows him into hell.
-I make three bets with three freepers on the election, shouting "Landslide" at anyone who will listen.

November 1st: I finally get a ticket to a rally I can go to, since I'm taking time off from work to GOTV. I stand in the cold rain for 2 hours. By the end of the rally, I can't feel my feet. But I get to see the man I am firmly convinced will be my next prez.

November - my guts get ripped out and put back in sideways.

But still, there is no going back. The only thing that would stop me now is if he suddenly pulled off a mask and revealed himself to be Karl Rove on stilts, shouting "Damn you kids!"

Kerry 2008! I'll be there.

66. The last best hope for the world
I hope we can find somebody with the integrity and international vision to change things some day. But right now there is nobody who could have done it like John Kerry.

72. If your in Denial
Alot of us are :(

I found Kerry late mostly at the urging of my Teen Daughter who was helping me research all the Democratic Candidates and ended up focusing on Kerry, something about him caught her attention and she became like a dog with a bone :) Smart Kid if I do say so myself and the thing that made her love him was she read then listened to the full text of his speech in 1971, the saddest thing that happened according to her is the only thing the other side could find to use against him was ex. from this very powerful testimony. Sadly most of the country never heard it in its entirety or this would have become a none issue. I will support Kerry no matter what happens now because like all of those who learned about him not in 60 sec sound bites but through careful research know, he is a great man with a wonderful vision for this country!

73. That must be why then
It took me most of the summer, but I was most impressed with what I found as researched: BCCI, the Iran/Contra affair, that he had written a book on terrorism and was talking terrorism before 9/11 rather than damn Star Wars. And of course, his testimony. ALL OF IT, dagnabit. I agree with you there.

So much of what he said in that testimony still applies now.

Dang, I want my sig pic back.

70. John Kerry visably changed in the last parts of the race
he became a person again and stopped being a senator; if he can hold on to that. And at least SAYS SOMETHING SOON about ohio, up or down, whatever but shows me he's been paying attention; I'll support him.

71. Kerry was a stiff
He was a lousy candidate and should have easily beaten AWOL. Iraq was a mess and the economy is in bad shape -- how the hell did Kerry lose. My freeper brother in law works his ass off every day down at his gun shop -- BFD.

74. 55 million is not a failed candidate
In any other year that would have been plenty. He got more than any Dem in history. He got more votes than Reagan.

He was done in by the evangelicals. That and suppression and fraud.

We misunderestimated just how desperate the Bush gang was to not let Kerry in there.

75. I'm still a strong John Kerry supporter!
He gave the campaign everything he had, and I believe he's watching the fraud investigations closely. He's still around, and he'll fight for us again when the time is right. John Edwards is a Dem hero too!

76. Amen!
I truly believe Kerry and other prominent Dems are working behind the scenes investigating voter fraud. Working secretly, it keeps the "liberal" media off their backs, who as we all know, would make a joke out of this.
