Folks, this McCarthyesque witchhunt on the part of some of the people on this board is nuts. I've just had a back and forth with a lady who's convinced I'm a freeper because I have a hidden profile. What the hell is going on here? I had another person call me a "freeptard" last night. Don't you paranoid folks have anything better to do than throw out these baseless accusations. This marching in lock step impulse among some on this board is downright disturbing, akin to facism. You armchair Sherlocks who see a freeper around every corner need to find a more constructive outlet for your paranoia.

Although, in defense of some of those who misguidedly engage in the witch hunt, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean people aren't out to get you.

Freepers do infiltrate and they do taunt and generally disrupt things, looking to stir up trouble. It is very frustrating.

Stick around and keep standing up for yourself. Don't let the paranoia of some get you down. It comes with the territory.

I was totally flamed when I had around 450 posts. Read a post once by someone in the over-1000 club I was sure was a freeper.

Hard to know who's who. No pictures, no facial expressions to give away the subtleties of your postings. I remember some of your stuff pre- 11-3. Don't remember thinking you were freeping.

And as someone who errs on the progressive-but-libertarian side of politics, I definitely understand why someone wouldn't' want their profile public. No one's damn business, really. (After all, isn't that one of our main beefs against Ashcroft? He has to know everything that happens in our chat rooms, gynecologist offices, and mosques?)

16. i have put out this site to a HANDFUL of dems yesterday and

today. i am warning all of them to not take things too personally. there is a lot of rawness over here. i put nothing on my profile. i hope that isnt indicitive of how we find the freeper. i would hope the people i put to this site can enjoy it, and if their opinion differs and are attacked for being freepers they will understand. i would hope the people on this board can be a little more understanding.

i wish a lot of the people i have turned onto this board would have been here sooner, but they werent. i want them informed and gain all they can from this board, like i have in the last 6 months. but they may not be perfect. i hope that is allowed
