DNC, oh DNC, why hast thou forsaken us?
Our leadership seems to have caved to the right. Again. :(

So, are we just going to cave, too? My blood is up for something BIG.

What are we going to do?

6. Who decides DNC head?
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 04:53 PM by Callissto
I read that Dean is considering the DNC head position, but it depends on 240 members to elect a chair. Who are these people?

2. It has been a week.
We can do only that which we are equipped to do. We collect data. We make it available. We wait. We see.

More than that we cannot do. The last thing that will help is succumbing to a sense of powerlessness.

...I really don't know what my reaction will be.

14. If they do something...
Will it be enough for you? Other people? What would be enough?

There is an invitation to a million disparate answers...

8. So, it looks like we need a real opposition party, huh?
I'm sick of hearing, "Yeah, we lost, but listen to the good news."

What good news? We lost almost everything important. As Jon Stewart said, "Some people look at a glass of water and say it's half full. Some people look at a glass of water and say it's a dragon."

9. Kerry on short clip on CnN just now (wolfe Blitzer)
said that 54 million people voted for affordable health care, stem cell research (I missed most of it). He said we have a clear agenda and will fight for this agenda. nothing about the elections.

11. I thought it was closer to 56 million and that's without all the votes
counted. So now he is going to fight?

12. didn't you watch on c-span today?
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 05:27 PM by grasswire
The DLC's Al From spent a VERY long time telling the audience at a panel discussion everything he thought was wrong with democrats. His eyelids were pink and his voice quavered and his hands fluttered as he made apology after apology after apology for the poor, tottering state of the Democratic Party. It went on for about twenty minutes.

It made me puke. I'm sure that Republicans will use it as high entertainment.

15. I thought From was the head of the DLC
I also think we give them way too much credit, Ive done a little research, we have more non-DLC congress people than we do DLC congress people plus our house and senate leaders arent members of it, Pelosi is actually a member of the progressive caucus and Reid isnt a member of the DLC nor was Daschle for that matter, and nor is chief whip in the senate, Durbin.

16. We have forsaken OUR RIGHTS! How many of US made phone calls today?
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 05:34 PM by mzmolly
How many of US called Kerry's office to ask him to pursue the "voting irregularities"? Or ... contacted John Conyers to THANK HIM for working on our behalf? I posted a thread that had contact info for John Kerry not ONE response. I'll kick it again in vein, but this is no longer his decision, it's about our confidence in the system. He represents US.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT THE PARTY, IT'S ABOUT THE PEOPLE ... Now get to work!

:hi:
