Feb 02: Marines To Practice Urban Warfare In North Little Rock

A good few of us in the news business wondered what was going on, why urban warfare was being practiced when it did not seem that Arkansas cities would be invaded and occupied by Muslim Hordes.

I believe this is more support for the theory that bu$h was planning a war long before he ever (ahem) took office.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (Reuters) - U.S. Marines will hunt mock combatants in a real city next week in a first-of-its-kind urban warfare exercise aimed at improving tactics in the U.S. war on terrorism and other dangerous overseas missions.

While there will be no shooting, about 300 Marines will practice reconnaissance and house and vehicle searches in downtown North Little Rock, nearby neighborhoods, on key bridges and at a nuclear power plant from Sunday through Thursday, officials said.

The unusual maneuver in a real city, instead of in a mock town set up on a military base, is an experiment by the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory.

The experiment was planned before the September 11 hijack attacks on the United States, but was given added urgency by President George W Bush's declared war on terrorism. (Emphasis added.)

Hmmmm. How many urban areas does Afghanistan have compared to, say IRAQ?

Video games with urban warfare scenarios were being created with the actual expert input of the military BEFORE any sane individual was even considering such a prospect...

that he is a "war president" and that we are in a state of war. well, that picture might be a mock exercise--but, soon enough it will become the real thing..beginning on America's Blackest Day in History when he is reseated at the White House on 1/20/05 and hordes of army troops will be called to DC to keep him, who says that we are fighting terrorists overseas so that we don't have to fight them here--safe; along with his mommy, his poppy, pickles the stepford wife, jenna the twin who may have indeed gotten a message from above when she dreamt that daddy was losing the elections, and his whole host of other guests.

This is America and the boooosh gooon has made it safer by invading and occupying Iraq, removing Saddam Hussein, and letting the terrorists who are now flocking in into Iraq gather in Fallujah where he is, in Condi Rice's words, "swatting them like flies".
