Would you like to know what God thinks about the election?
I am religious, although I don't attend any of the cult churches out there. I keep my religion between me and God. Well, anyway, I prayed and prayed Nov 3rd and 4th asking God to please give me a sign about how He feels about the election.

I didn't think He'd answer, of course, but I noticed the other day that the big, giant flag that has hung in front of my house forever through all kinds of weather got ripped right out of the post holder thing. The post itself is bent in half and the flag is tattered and torn and I found it laying like that on my front porch after a severe storm ripped through here.

1. To be honest. I have wondered that myself.

I do not consider myself religious, however, I do sometimes seek His guidance.

It was reported recently that Bush winning would prove that there is no God being that about 75% of in inhabitants on Earth did not want him to win. And were praying for him not to. I know I was.

4. Well, this is what I think...
We don't always understand why God does the things He does or why He makes certain things happen. But eventually, there always is a reason.

I certainly can't think of one, but I know one day I will understand.

10. I can't agree with you more...
I stop and think sometimes that this is way 'things are supposed to be'

Maybe Bush winning will bring people closer to their faith because of all the havoc he will soon create.

We don't always see His wisdom in life or in death for that matter. We just have to believe that we all did the right thing and did the best we could.

I don't like to lose, but I take solice in the fact that I can look at myself in the mirror and say that I am true to myself and to my word.

3. To tell you the truth I don't think God cares about our elections any
more than he cares who wins a ball game..It is up to us to care and take care of our own problems...If there is a God I would think he has a lot to take care of all over this universe...

5. Both times that Bush the Elder seized the Presidency, the weather ...
where I live was forbodingly prophetic.

In 00, the day the SC decided the election, we were hammered with a TERRIBLE ice storm. This year, the day dawned gray, cold, wet, windy, and miserable.

11. Very seriously -- but am I living in a parallel universe
did I wake up somehow in the wrong world -- as did many of us at DU?

I am delusional to wish for peace on earth. I am delusional to wish for the election of a democratic President.

9. I hope this helps, it always gets me through the night.
The lighthouse.

There's a lighthouse on a hillside
that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed He sends out a light,
light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness now
Will safely lead me on
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
This ship would sail no more.

Oh I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
King Jesus is the lighthouse
Upon the rocks of sin
He has shone a light around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Then where would this ship be.

Everybody that lives around us
says tear the lighthouse down
You know the big ships
they don't sail by this way no more
so what's the use of it standing 'round?
Ahh, but then my mind goes way on back
to that stormy night,
when just in time, oh thank God I saw the light
T'was the light from that old lighthouse
that still stands up there on a hill.

Oh I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
King Jesus is the lighthouse
Upon the rocks of sin
He has shone a light around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Then where would this ship be.

Oh, If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Then where would this ship be.

13. I heard an Art Bell guest
say that God allowed Pearl Harbor to be struck to kick America in the ass and thus get us to develop the A-bomb before Hitler did. Had Pearl Harbor not happened, then we wouldn't have gotten to the A-bomb first--nothing there to motivate us. Hmmmmmm.....sometimes we can't see the bigger picture.
