Just walked out of my front door, to find my flag gone

Some asshole in my neighborhood stole my upsidedown flag from my front porch last night. I figured out they took all of my kerry signs also. Boy are they righting the ship of state. Calling cops now.

If not, it might have been me stealing it instead of some bushista. Unlighted flags after sunset are a pet peeve.

Set up surveillance of some sort.

It is perfectly valid to fly the flay like that.

Buy another flag and ID it in some fashion, with some small mark or ribbon in an inconspicuous spot.

Stealing a flag is the lowest of the low.
This is far beyond campaign sign theft.

This is like stealing flowers off a grave. :mad:

6. A solution:

Buy a mini video cam (about $50) from your local electronic supply store, and a 50 ft. combination power supply/video cable ($15). Put the cam in a tree or on a porch outside, and hook it up to a VCR inside. Get a 10-hour tape and just record every evening. Rewind and record again each day.

Yea, these good Americans thought it appropriate to steal my yard signs both before and after the election. I haven't even bothered putting out a flag -- they're a bit more expensive than yard signs. Anyway, people around here would probably prefer to believe that an upside-down flag is an anti-American statement rather than a distress signal.

9. Yep. Haven't met many FReeper types well versed in flag code.

In fact they are usually the biggest violaters.

And they are the most likely suspects when you see someone flying a raggedy, tattered flag or one with Hank Williams Jr, Rambo or Elvis Stamoped on it.

the cop was real nice, told me I had every right to protest like that. funny he voted for Kerry. I told him the only reason I was reporting it was so when it escalates we will have a record. I am going to bring them(they tried to get the one on my flag pole, but couldn't figure out how it unhooks at the top) in at night, except I would like to try for a setup to trap them. I found a couple of the signs in the weeds adjacent to my neighbors.....I know it is someone in my neighborhood as the street has no access except to go by my house. Thought about a sign welcoming America to it's new fascism, but I want to catch the guy first. I am asking: what will it take to get you into the street?
