ABORTIONS – ON THE RISE UNDER BUSH
ABORTIONS – ON THE RISE UNDER BUSH – by Glen Harold Stassen and Gary Krane

snip
Others who profess to be pro-life have less to show. Take George W. Bush. An analysis of the somewhat sparse data from his presidency has uncovered some disturbing and counterintuitive trends.

In total numbers, 7,869 more abortions were performed in these sixteen states during George W. Bush's second year in office than previously. If this trend reflects our nation, 24,000 more abortions were performed during George W. Bush's second year in office than the year before. Had the previous trends continued, 28,000 fewer abortions should have occurred each year in that time. All in all, at least 52,000 more abortions occurred in the United States in 2002 than expected from the earlier trends. And the figure is likely two to three times that for the entire period from 2000 to 2003.

Tell me again how * qualifies as pro-life instead of pro-death? I know that those that post here get it but how far does one have to have their head up their ass not to?

2. That's quite a feat considering that ca. 85% of counties don't offer
abortion services.

4. I wonder
if it would be effective for a dem to say he wanted to bring down the number of abortions. Bringing down not meaning making it illegal. There are alot of things that most people can agree on that would bring down the number of abortions in this country - more access to birth control pills, day care, a better economy in general, and others I'm sure I'm missing. For that matter, I think we can all agree that abortions are not desirable in and of themselves.

6. The abortion-economy link
Of course, when you do tell a Christian about this, they just start to talk about how that person (meaning the woman, of course) shouldn't be having sex in the first place.

Let's face it, Christians do not care about people. Christians care only about what they perceive to be God's Law.

They do not care if a mother will die while trying to bring a child to term (a child that will most likely die shortly after birth, if not during). They do not care if American children are given an education, unless you're discussing a Biblical education. They do not care if parents cannot afford child care. They do not care. Period.
