Best Buy, Target and CompUSA Job report
Remember that every major retailer, to include Fedx, UPS and the post office started hiring in September and October for the Christmas season. They need time to get their people trained up for the season. So despite all the happy talk, a lot more of these jobs are temporary jobs then they are focusing on. Does mean retailers will have a healthy Christmas? Maybe not if most of the people they hired know they need to save money for one they are let go about January.

Employers added 337,000 jobs last month, and figures from the past two months were revised upward, suggesting the economy has moved well beyond the summer’s “soft patch” and retailers could enjoy a healthy Christmas sales season.

1. "Retail trade employment was little changed overall"
Retail trade employment was little changed overall in October (+21,000); its electronics and appliance stores component gained 7,000 jobs. Retail trade has added 188,000 jobs since its recent low in December 2003. Wholesale trade employment was about unchanged in October."

2. Work, get paid, but don't spend you money. Great idea works for me.
Especially these minimum and temp workers are probably trying get money for the holidays. How can we get to them and ask them to do theirselves a big favor and not spend for the Christmans holidays?
