Damn! Check out the "My name is Steven Joseph Vincent" thread!
If you haven't clicked on it, you gotta check it out.

For some reason I can't quite fathom, it's the most emotionally powerful thread I've ever seen on DU. Or anywhere else.

I've still got goosebumps.

I clicked on it by accident, no shit. I didn't want to click on a thread that big because they usually start slowing my computer way the hell down if they approach 100 posts. But this one didn't for some reason

2. Mortos is an AWESOME writer...
...so I always read his threads. That one, though, stunned me like nothing else I've ever seen. I can't explain it, but I suddenly felt as if I had 55,000 close family members in the room with me.

10. I realized what's so cool about it --
Okay, there's a lot that's cool about it --

But usually when you read a list of names like this, it's of dead people. Victims. Soldiers.

This is a list of LIVING PEOPLE! It's fucking AWESOME.

We're all ALIVE.

It put a face on DU that I never knew existed.

11. you brought up a good point. living HOPE. living vitality
normally such living lists are the antiseptic columns of courier typeface showing a high school honor roll or a list of donors to a civic center.

this list comes complete with some minor biographies and "Remember the Alamo" type of stick-to-it-iveness we need.

BEsides, we know we will be virtually rubbing shoulders with all these names--these people...and may even meet up with a number of them in the real world at campaign stops, protests, strategy sessions...it is exciting and uplifting.
