Should Bill Clinton take over as Chairman of the Democratic Party?
He can't be head of the entire country, but why not head of the Democratic half?

He's...

... our party's best politician.
... our party's best spokesman.
... our party's best strategist.
... our party's best campaigner.
... our party's best fundraiser.

Seriously, why isn't he the voice and the face of the DNC?

4. No
A former president wouldn't work in that post, and Clinton wouldn't want it.

5. Lightning rod.
It would have its plusses and minuses, in my opinion, the big one being the Hillary thing.

But I seriously doubt he'd want the job. It's a big headache, with lots of behind the scenes ass kissing to do and the like, and Clinton was president far too long to do that sort of thing now.

7. It's kind of a menial job for a guy like him, ain't it?
He's bigger than that dinky post.

9. this position is not nearly as important as many of you think
The party chairman position is not like playing quarterback or being the head coach. It's much more like being head cheerleader.

16. Interesting...
I would expect this person is central to defining the strategy and the vision of the party... in building the vision and actions required for the upcoming elections.

10. No
He is not the future of the Dem party.
As right as he was for the time, the third way is dead.
We need someone who knows when to pursuade, when to compromise, and when to leave a body bleeding in the alley.

We don't need a man who likes to be liked. We need the reincarnation of Lyndon Johnson, or Harry Truman.
