I like this idea of a media co-op..

How do we get the ball rolling. think about it.. a publicly owned newspaper or radio station. I saw this mentioned on another thread and thought it deserved a thread of it's own.

What we need is..

I agree that an organized resistance can happen without much funding. But an organized news network with the resources to compete with the 'major news networks' (CNN, ABC, MSNBC, (gag)FOX) would need funding to get set up, to pay investigative persons, staff, buy cameras and equipment, etc... that's the part that could be done much more easily with a hefty bankroll. It could also be done by a lot of people who all wanted to give $500 apiece to see it succeed... :)

another idea may be to have community generated shows over the internet that are shown by local co-ops. and i think we'll have to start small market unless there's a lot of money out there.
