I think, to a man or woman, they would.

I think they would run to get Swiss Army knives, candles, and ballpoint pens and do it themselves. And they would cry and shout "Hallelujah!" at the exquisite pain, and have religious orgasms the likes of which no one on Earth has ever experienced before.

Not one of Bush's fundamentalist core of fanatics would ever, even for a second, see a problem with any of this. None of them would have a clue that it conflicts with major warnings provided by their own Bible. Hell, they read the warnings in the Bible now, and they absolutely don't seem to care or make any connections whatsoever. They so, so want to believe.
