Just curious.....did a LOT of people call in sick today for work?
I live in a pretty densely populated suburban metro area....and USUALLY around 6:00 pm or so the traffic is really really heavy and backed up. Tonight, you couldn't even tell it was 'rush hour', not very much traffic at all.

Also at work today, there were hardly ANY customers....really really quiet. Did anyone else notice this?

12. Since I work with mostly republicans
I seriously thought about staying home. But then I decided to go in and do a little gloating of my own. I told my co-workers that I wash my hands of them, and whatever misfortune befalls them in the next 4 years, they asked for. I told them they would get no support from me, and that I would use every opportunity afforded me to rub their noses in their idiot leader and his idiot policies, because I know it will all come back to bite them in the ass.
And then I started feeling thankful that the democrats did not inherit this f'ed up mess the republicans created. Let it destroy them, not us.

21. That is the tin lining
feeling thankful that the democrats did not inherit this f'ed up mess the republicans created. Let it destroy them, not us.

Kerry would have had his friggin' hands full. But I fear this f'ed up mess is going to be quite indiscriminate in what it destroys. On the political side, except for that issue of judge appointments (and that issue is a BIG one), there is potential for recovery in our lifetimes.

5. I should have
I was up late. But I went in.

Had a meeting with my boss, who's a Republican Lite from CA. He told me once, yeah, I kinda gave the guy (Bush) a chance, but he really turned out to an idiot.

He was pretty bummed too.

8. I should have too.
Pff, I was so cranky I almost bit my boss' head off. The rest of the time, I just slogged through stuff with my eyes smarting and a lump in my throat. It felt like a breakup.

10. Nope
I've got too many projects at work to take the time. It's a job worth doing and anyway keeping busy kept me from drowning in depression.

13. Went in for 2 hours
I'm surrounded by fundie pukes, so when the plumber called and said he was on his way to my house, I took that chance to stay out the rest of the day.

I'm heartsick, and although I'm about as tolerant as a person can be (former college professor!), I had no stomach for kool-aid gloating today. Maybe tomorrow.

15. I noticed traffic was light
and my email box was not filling up at nearly its usual rate. Though most seemed to show up at work, I did see a couple sleepy-heads in meetings.

18. Not in Portland.
Everyone showed up. Lots of long faces, however. We lost a lot yesterday. The White House. Oregon's right to gay marriage. Oregon's land use laws, which made this state what it is today.

The Oregon of Tom McCall and Wayne Morse is dead.

19. I went to work then came home early.
talked with a bunch of good people there, told the one repub that since we had such opposing viewpoints I didn't want to talk with him which he respected. He said he hadn't realized I supported Kerry but was ok with it.
