OMG - Franken's book
I'm reading Franken's book slowly to enjoy it. I just read the chapter on why the White House should have known about 9/11/01. There weren't vague threats...these assholes *should* have known.

If you haven't bought this book, you need to. Or get on a waiting list for it at your local library. Call in favors. Get someone to give it to you for your birthday/anniversary. You need this book.

PS Conservative idiots is especially good this week.

7. Might have to wait in line...
Milwaukee Public has a dozen copies on order for various branches, and if you reserve it right now you'll be 90th in line for a copy to be returned.

They've ordered 19 copies of O'Reilly's as-yet unreleased book. Only three holds so far on that book...

One interesting thing I've noticed, just picking up right-wing books off the shelf in my library, is that many many copies are gifts, as shown by the little bookplate inside the cover. Books by our side -- Franken, Carville -- aren't gifts, they're purchased by the library.

13. If your local library
doesn't have it, ask them to purchase it.

My library has purchased dozens of books upon my request and each and every one of them has had a long waiting list - after I get to read it 1st.

3. Yes, they knew and did nothing!
Franken calls it "Operation Ignore" and that certainly fits!

4. I just bought it an hour ago at Barnes and Noble.

There was a bunch of them on a table in the middle aisle, so at least they aren't trying to hide them. I also bought Conason's book "big Lies." Then, to calm myself down, the latest Tricycle (Buddhist magazine). I have promised myself that I would leave them all as a treat after I have cleaned the house. :(

And what am I doing now? Posting on this damn site!

6. LOL
Funny, I did almost the exact same thing. Tricycle is what I use to relax my mind.

9. PLEASE buy your books at small, independant book stores if you can
They may cost a little bit more at times, but we need to give these guys our business. The conglomerates (Borders, Barnes and Noble, Books a Million) are putting these guys out of business.

Also, the conglomerates still tend to showcase the wingnut books more often, although I do see it changing somewhat.

Not meant to be preachy .... Let's just support the little guy !

10. Bought it for my dad
for his b-day this wknd and read half of it while I was at his house. Now I have to go buy my own copy to finish it. It kicks major ass. I mean, he methodically, efficiently and histerically destroys these assholes...Truly brilliant. He's definitely one of my heros now...
