Why Hoeffel losing against Spector is a GREAT thing (PA)
Being a Democrat from PA, I know something most people may not. A piece of excellent news from the keystone state:

Hoeffel did MUCH better than expected, and at one point, was ahead of Spector. Remember this. Hoeffel was kicked out of the state legislature after redistricting, so he threw his hat into the ring against Spector. Here's why it's great that he lost:

We hate Santorum (fundie/Repub). HATE HATE HATE Santorum. Many think Hoeffel ran for 2004 Senate against Spector just to get his name out there to make a 2006 run against Santorum. My guess? He's going to kick Santorum's ass. Ah, PA, you'll make me proud. One Democratic governor, one moderate and one democrat Senator, and going blue in the 2004 elections. Nice.

3. And Hoeffel did better than expected WITH ALMOST NO CAMPAIGN.
His ads were the most bland things I've ever seen (when I saw them). ... we couldn't get any of his campaign signs to put out till about three days before the election -- we could never get a rep. from his campaign to represent him at events we had ... so imagine what he could do if he actually had a real campaign?

7. I thought there was a female who was going to run against Santorum...
Barbara something? She used to be a Republican, and I read somewhere she was planning to run.
