The future, as seen from here....
These are emotional times and probably not the best environment to be laying out scenarios for the future. However, I will disregard my own advice and pontificate about the ramifications of another 4 years of reckless government.

With the alleged election of Bush to a second term, the United States now stands isolated in the world regarding the resolution of the crisis in Iraq - notwithstanding the "coalition of the willing" which continues to bleed more and more countries. With the re-election? of Bush the world can certifiably say that the Americans have gone "mad".

With the re-election of Bush, innocent people have been condemned to death. Either in the Middle East or people suffering from ailments that a possible medical breakthrough regarding stem-cell research could cure. Unlike Laura Bush, I don't claim to be a scientist and reject out of hand that any good could come from scientific discovery.

With the rubber-stamp of approval given to this neo-fascist group that has hijacked government, it will be up to the moderates such as Chuck Hagel, John McCain, Richard Lugar to reign in the run amok policies of the marauding faux conservatives due to the inability of republican-lite democrats to stop the Orwellian nightmare of the last 4 years.

The PNAC plan does not end with the mess in Iraq. After all, in the Orwellian world of Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Don Rumsfeld, et. al. the mess in Iraq is "catastrophic success". The only question left now is ..where to get the troops for their other worldly desires?

Enter stage right, "The Draft"

Yeah, I know. Bush said "We're not gonna have a draft".
That was BEFORE the election. That was before the scenario I'm about to unfold that will enable the neo-fascists to enact "The Draft".

Another terrorist attack will strike "the homeland". Not just any strike. A small, suit-case nuke strike, maybe a small radiological device, maybe a subway gassing. It would be significant enough to galvanize public support for enactment of "The Draft" to fully implement the PNAC Plan.

It would occur within a coastal state because penetrating deeper into the heartland of the country risks discovery (thanks a lot all you brave "red staters" in the middle of America for risking YOUR ASS)The sheep will rally round the flag, Bush will have his army and in the name of democracy, Bush and the PNAC crowd will go on their neo-fascist rampage.

The "end-of-time" Christian nutcases will see Gods face in that of Bush's. The chicken-hawk right-wing talk radio crowd will castigate those that resist as "un-American" and the corporate class will be sitting by the pool watching the dividend checks come in as their kids are busy "having other priorities" while the working class dupes will be sending their kids off to kill and die "for freedom".

I could go on but why bother. This country is fucked.
