I'm numb
I don't believe it.

I can't watch the media at all.

We had to start breaking down our county office today and it was one of the saddest things I've done. People were stopping by to pick up the supplies they had lent us or the things they left last night after our election night party. I've been crying all day off and on.

Some asshole (and I have no kinder words for him) stopped in to tell us how glad he was Bush had won. It took every ounce of the limited strength I had not to clobber him with one of our wooden signs. What an obnoxious idiot!!! I am in no mood to deal with any of this right now.

As I said, I'm numb and I don't have the strength right now to fight. I sure hope that changes.

Thank you all. We fought one hell of a fight.

1. Boy do we all know how you're feeling.
I cried like a baby during the concession speeches. I just don't know how anyone in this country could listen to those two men speak and vote for the shrub. I have lost all faith in the people of this country. They rejected two truly moral men for two men with no morals. We now live in a country where it is moral to let children go without health insurance, decent schools, affordable housing. Where morality is no l onger judged by actions but by meaningless words. Where it is ok to kill other children, husbands and wives, all innocents under the false pretense of protecting ourselves. Oh God where have you gone?

2. *hugs back* Hey, at least we are in Maine where
we have MaineCare and Dirigo health and clean elections that put folks like Eder and Pingree back in the House.

We are luckier than many in this country.

3. I've heard that word all day.
It's like someone died.
