Appropriate Thomas Jefferson quote
All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression.

Thomas Jefferson

7. It's big enough if your car is a school bus...
or if you never look through your rear-windshield anyway...

3. Thanks .....
It is interesting to think about this quote, and examine it's implications. What occures to me is that Bush would beat Jefferson in an election in 2004; that's how confused our nation is.

5. At this point, there's other Jefferson quotes just as appropriate
"Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God."

"Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government..."

"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive..."

"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man...

Just a few of my favorites.

6. Yep, those are great too............................
I read them all this morning. I chose to post the one above because I found it a less volatile one to quote to right-wingers at the moment. The ones you posted may soon become necessary.
