I'm ashamed to be white
I just told a client of mine I was ashamed to be white. I called her back on a minor work problem. Believe me, she helped me more than I helped her.

She told me that her mother felt that things were so bad it was probably better that Bush is in charge, otherwise they will blame Kerry.

I just told this nice black woman I met only once that I was ashamed to be white.

That's how I feel. I'm ashamed to be white.

1. My mom feels that way too.
Bush will not control spending. He wants tax cuts and more government. The economy will go into recession in 2006.

3. Don't be.
If it weren't for a lot of good, brave white people like you, us non whites would have had a much harder time getting the rights we have today. I am Hispanic, and I am deeply ashamed of all these Hispanics voting Repuke. There are traitors in all races, trust me.

4. I know the feeling
And it's more than that. I'm ashamed of every time I remained silent when someone made a racist comment in my presence. I will never be silent again.

6. Only be ashamed if you are a
complete idiot. Has nothing to do with race. Yeah, a lot of
* voters are stupid redneck white men. Doesn't mean that race
is an indicator of being stupid and redneck. I'm sure shubya
got his share of black votes from people who are scared of gays
or whose church told them to vote shrubya.

7. nobody should ever
feel ashamed about things that they don't control and can't change. Nobody should hate who they ARE.

People should feel ashamed about their own attitudes, prejudice, mistreatment of others--the things that they can control.

I have never hated anyone because of their race. I have however disliked many because of their attitudes and prejudices.

10. Why? Did you do something wrong? You're no more responsible
for some crazy white people than your black coworker is responsible for, say, that crazy black sniper guy.

Unless you did something wrong or exploit the perogatives of your race, you don't have to be ashamed. If you did something, apologize for that. But apologizing for the color of your skin is a little absurd if you didn't do anything to take advantage of it and you're voting and working to break down racial barriers.
