Does Hillary have a good shot in 08?
Let's face it, she will probably be "the one" on 08. Do you think she has a shot in this irrational country? Does she have a shot at even picking off one of those Evangelical run states??

1. No. Hilary has no shot...
I'm afraid we're going to see more "guns, god, gays" voting people, unless young people start voting.

WTF is wrong with young people?

34. I don't know why there is all this faith in young voters
There was a New York Times article early this year about how young people are MORE CONSERVATIVE than their baby boomer parents.

2. No, she's a woman who was married to Clinton.
Sorry to be so blunt. I have a much higher opinion of her but I doubt the rest of America does (as seen by their actions last night).

4. NFC ...
No Fucking Chance.

Last night proved that this country is not going to elect Clinton. She has too much baggage, and too polorizing of a figure (not her fault). Everyone on earth has a strong opinion about her. It would be worse than bush.

Cheers
Drifter

5. Not a chance
Kerry did not enter this election utterly hated by the religio-fascists. The Repukes spun up their hatred of him in 6 months and got their base marching in lockstep.

They will have been pounding on Hillary for 16 years in 08. She is despised in the red states already, what is going to change that? She is the greatest fundraising tool the Repukes have.

Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 08:04 AM by elfin
to win the office. Talk about polarizing - no matter how bad things are going to get, no way she could pick up Rethug votes and possibly lose some Dem women who never warmed to her.

I would work for her, but I think it has "Lost Cause" written all over it.

11. Hillary for president is right wing repub propaganda.
To take attention away from her accomplishments in the Senate. To paint her as mad for power. To divide the Democratic party. The talk of Hillary for president comes from the right wing repubs.

32. Exactly. Hillary will not run in 2008.
She's a great senator, and a patriot. She's not going to run knowing that she will lose. I admire her, and so does Obama.

Don't anyone buy this Hillary-bashing propaganda.

So far they have led the party to nothing but defeat on the skewed victories of Bill Clinton.

It's time for a change.

19. Don't think about '08 right now, 4 years is a very long time.
Try to analyse why someone who lied, failed, ridiculed the international rights, impoverished the middle class and weakened the democracy can be reelected in your country. And why nationalism and religion win.

24. the unexpected
after 2000, i recall listening to people trumping hillary as being "the answer" in 2004. when the time came for candidates to announce, she didn't. who did? for the most part, a number of people who in 2000 would never have struck us as potential presidential candidates.

i suspect that the real 2008 candidate (should kerry fail in ohio), is left to be seen, and could be anybody, but most likely someone we don't expect. i'm not convinced that the hopes of democrats now rest solely on hillary's shoulders.

33. Stop with the right wing talking points already
HIllary Clinton is not going to run for pres in 2008. She has a comfortable Senate seat.

The Dems do need to get to work on molding the 2008 candidate and get that person out in the media so there is no problem with name recognition.
