I am going to say goodbye to you all here at Democratic Underground.

I have agonized, screamed, cried, wailed, and shook my head in disbelief, as well as shaking my fist at God over the past 3 years here.

I have read and researched and found out stuff I wish I didn't know because it has changed me forever.

I can't take another 4 years of this. I know * didn't win. With 30% of voters voting on Diebold or some other form of BBV our democracy has been subverted. The people no longer have a say in the forming of the government. America has died. I shudder to think what the next 4 years will bring. I will bare it alone, without my friends here. It has been too painful and I just can't participate any longer knowing that it doesn't matter.

Thank you all for your posts, your wealth of information and for teaching me truth. You will never be forgotten.

2. I won't be leaving.
Now, more than ever, is the time for that One Great Thing that has long set American Democracy apart:

A loyal opposition.Informed. Unafraid.

If we lose that, then we have lost EVERYTHING.

I am hugely dissapointed. I am afraid. I feel I know, with crystal clarity, what comes next. All of it. The worst. And if this election stands, I am certain of it coming, just as I am certain that the sun will once again rise tomorrow.

But I am not going away or giving up.

I am 52. The economy has become closed to me, in truth. The land of opportunity is nothing of the sort for people like me. But I feel the deeply pressing need to leave something as my legacy, such as it will be. Humble. Unimportant. A mote floating in time, unnoticed.

I will leave my oppostition to this. I ain't going nowhere.

3. If you take that attitude they win and we all loose - we have to
stick together and fight back! I know it is hard I am a complex mix of very very angry, sick, and dumbfounded at the American people, we have to work harder at educating the sheep. * (and yes he is still a *) is going to go even further to the right, he has to sleep in the bed he has made and it isn't going to be pretty but his polices are going to lead this country down a path I don't even want to think about but we have to be there ready to pick up the pieces and continue the fight. Look how arrogant they were in 2000 they must be thinking this is a mandate in comparison. We need everybody because more will come into the fold once the realities of this misguided, disastrous administration begin to come to light, stay and fight!
