look back and agree with John Le Carre that its is one more spasm of
America's "periodic bouts of madness", which though more virulent than the McCarthy era, has been mercifully short. I hope it results in the complete and total repudiation of everything Bush-Cheney and Rumsfeld stand for and America can be cleansed of this virus from its system.
