...should I mention how much he's liked here at DU? :-)

Going to the debate, too...

It's a Dean week!

1. Are you going to the Garden Party in San Jose?
I already had prior plans so I couldn't make it.

9. I got to talk to him last week in Falls Church
Edited on Sun Aug-31-03 09:36 PM by UnapologeticLiberal
I told him that it was the 7th time I had seen him speak and that every time I see him I get so excited and inspired, and I forget how much the odds are stacked against us and feel like we really have a chance. He seemed to really appreciate that. And now I am excited because I realized I will be able to see him for an 8th time when he comes to College Park, MD next week.

10. Umm! Lucky you! I've not seen Dean in person one time!
There's still plenty of time, though!

He sure gets around!

I hope Dean gets the nomination ..I'd love for him to be the one traveling around our Country bringing People to his side! :-)

12. Really? You MUST go see him sometime?
Where do you live? Surely he will come to within a few hours of where you are at some point. Even people in Boise, ID got to see him.

I am not really sure how it is that I have been able to see him so many times - I don't even live anywhere near Iowa or New Hampshire, and I live in a state with a June primary. But I have seen him in NYC, Washington, Atlantic City, Burlington, VT, Philadelphia, Buffalo, and Falls Church, VA...I guess I have gotten lucky, in part...and now that I am in DC I may have several more opportunities...I really hope that he and all the other candidates take this primary seriously, because I feel so strongly about voting rights for the District, and anything that we can do to highlight the injustice of denying full enfranchisement to DC residents is an opportunity we ought to jump on.

Gotta just love your enthusiasum.
I met him at his daughter's hockey game in 1999.
A lot less heat & light on that evening.

13. LOL, so I am a little bit obsessed
And I think part of it is just that I am young...maybe this enthusiasm is normal and i just think it is unusual because I have not been around for that long. But based on what people who have been around a lot longer have said, I do not think there is usually this much enthusiasm for a candidate this far before an election. And the other day it occured to me that it may be years before I get to work for anyone I like this much again...this campaign has been an amazing experience, and I am just trying to make the most of it.

14. Well, I'm 55, and
I've never seen anything like this except maybe back to the Kennedys (tho I was very young -- in my teens -- and not paying attention to politics much).

This IS an unusual candidate and an unusual campaign, and the enthusiasm surrounding it are quite phenomenal.
