HELP ! ! Interviewing Michael Stipe Soon - Need Good ??'s Preferrably
about his politics. Truth is I'm not inverviewing him, but a friend is very soon.

I've never been a big fan of REM. And I am coloring my hair right now, can't leave it on too long to do research..

1. Ask him...
"Have REM record sales or tour receipts been helped by your strong position against the Administration?"

"How do you feel about fans who boo when you mention Kerry during your concerts?"

2. By "soon" do you mean before the election?? Or after?
I saw them two weeks ago and Stipe changes into a "Kerry" t-shirt for the encore. Their own tour commenced when the Vote For Chage tour ended. I don't think there's any question about where their sentiments lie. R.E.M. have always been forthright about their politics. They know where they stand, and they're honorable in their covictions, and they put their money where their mouth is.

Ask them, what they think the first things President Kerry should do and what about the Bush legacy they would like to see overturned/abolished/corrected/remedied.

4. Ask him what the hell the lyrics to Harborcoat mean
I've always wondered that.

No, I'm kidding. But you might ask him how his political views go over in his home state of Georgia, how he came to be a liberal, that kind of thing.

I loved what he said about the movie "the Passion" - "I don't need to see it, I've read the Book."
