Anyone been to the (sad) Free Republic Site recently?

Ever notice there's NEVER any good news for conservatives there? The only things that they would be happy with, they don't mention (*cough* voter suppression *cough*). This morning, there's some post about UFO's on the front page, and one news item tells people to "ignore the polls." LOL, all signs pointing to a Kerry win! :evilgrin:

Isn't it so terribly depressing? These people lead mundane lives, passively participating in this game called humanity, but secretly wishing that their political opponents were incarcerated and tortured for their "ignorance".

Of course it's all a matter of perception, and I find it safe to say that, as a democratic voter, I could cast infinite scorn and derision their way as well. After all, they're so coddled by right-wing hate-radio that opinions hold more weight than facts in their own minds.

Strangely, I don't see people screaming for republicans to be rounded up and thrown into gulags. I wonder - does that have anything to do with... say... social maturity?

10. Its such a sad site really...

First off, they are completely delusional about any FACT that contradicts their faith that everything this administration does is certified by God. The spinning that goes on in threads where someone posted an article that is critical of the admin is truly a sight to see.

Second, there is hardly any "news" posted over there. Almost 75% of the news posts over there come from Newsmax or some equally discredited rightwing wacko site. They recycle these garbage rumors over and over and over so that suddenly it becomes their reality and they deride the media for bias, not even realizing that the media will not even touch these innuendos and rumors.

Third, the level of real, tangible hate is frightening. They often advocate violence at their percieved enemies, most often times liberals, democrats, or any other critic of this administration. The rhetoric over there is sometimes astonishingly violent.

I visit every so often, but it's usually only when there is something big that hurts the president, to see how they are spinning the story to themselves.

Their site is haphazard and amateur, the ramblings of boy-men who beat their wives and embitter their children. The violence they advocate should have caused their site to be shut down ages ago but then Asscroft only cares if dissent is aimed at Repukes - If you threaten to murder and torture Dems it's all good. ( So much for that Equal Protection crap that Asscroft swore to uphold.)

But I do love to see their meltdowns, so kudos to you brave souls who visit and share....:toast:
