Bushbots really are cult members.
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 01:54 AM by UdoKier
Today, I was driving along Geary in W. San Francisco, minding my own business when a woman in a late-model car plastered with "W", "B/C 2004" stickers, yellow ribbon stickers, etc. blew past and honked her horn in the cadence of the old "nanny nanny boo-boo" child's rhyme (she had obviously seen my K/E 2004 stickers).

I've already told about the kooky cashier at the supermarket who started spewing about her love for Bush and Jesus because I was wearing my Kerry button and complained that her lib co-workers would "massacre" her if she wore a Bush button to work. (I mentioned to her than NOBODY wears partisan gear to work in a supermarket, that it's unprofessional)

Then there's that freakazoid black guy "David" who always calls up Mike Malloy, so eager to parrot the latest talking points he's memorized from Hannity, He just sounds like he's ready to bust, he's so thrilled with his own perceived cleverness.

All of these things and others make me thing these folks must be living is some bizarro fantasy world or bubble.

Why go around honking at Kerry supporters in San Francisco? Half the cars here have pro-kerry or anti-Bush stickers. It's NOT LIKE YOU'RE GOING TO SWAY THE BAY AREA TO GO REPUBLICAN. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!

Jeez! I don't go out of my way to go to SLC or Dallas to honk at folks with "W" stickers just to show how clever I am. Hell, I occasionally see a car with one here in SF, but I pay it little mind. I certainly don't see it as an invitation to start honking and jeering.

Why is this woman so intent on advertising what an ignorant slut she is? I could only help but wonder if she does this to EVERY Kerry-stickered car she sees. If so, she will keep pretty busy in this town. I love SF.

2. I almost got tarred and feathered at Wells-Fargo for dissing Fox News.
The Wells-Fargo banks where I do my banking play non-stop Fox News on TV sets suspended over the waiting lines in their lobbies. I complained about it to a friend also in line who I knew to be a Kerry backer (Republican BTW who voted for Bush in 2000).

You would have thought I blasphemed God in public as the whole damned line of people turned on me. One guy half my age (I'm 65) followed me to my car glaring at me. Talk about feeling vulnerable!

Why does Well-Fargo play Fox News for their customers....the most biased, divisive station on the air?

5. Observations on The Bush Cult
From WHY DO BUSH SUPPORTERS DENY THE OBVIOUS?
http://www.awakeninthedream.com/bushsupporters.html

The denial of people who support Bush is a form of blindness. People who support Bush are refusing to look at what is right in front of their eyes, an evil that they themselves are complicit in and participating in by their denial. People who are following Bush are acting out of their unconscious. It is as if they have fallen asleep and are dreaming, entranced by their own projections. It is as if they are bewitched, having fallen under a spell.

They are living in what John Kerry calls “a fantasy world of spin,” ignoring and oblivious to any facts that contradict their worldview. It is exactly like they are hypnotized, like they are brainwashed. People who follow Bush are behaving exactly like members of a cult who have blindly and unquestioningly given away their power to their leader. They have left behind their critical thinking, dis-connecting from their capacity to discern truth from fiction. Not to mention selling their soul in the bargain.

People who support Bush are suffering from a collective psychosis. Why else would they be supporting a madman for President? It is shattering to look in the mirror and see that we, as a people, have gone temporarily mad.

7. More Notes on The Bush Cult
from THE BUSH CULT
http://www.awakeninthedream.com/bushcult.html

At their root, cults are based on a mass, collective unconsciousness which feeds and reinforces itself. The cult is of the nature of an infinitely-perpetuating negative feedback loop, fueled by its members’ (“the elect”) unwillingness and resistance to self-reflect, look in the mirror and see what they are doing. Because it is so insular and unable to integrate any reflections from the outside, a cult always becomes self-destructive and ultimately destroys itself. This is why it is an extremely dangerous situation if Bush and his cultic followers take over our country, as it will create endless, unnecessary suffering for all of us. Bush might not just take down our country but our very planet as well. Another name for cults is collective psychosis.

It is profoundly important for us, as citizens of this country to recognize the nature of the collective madness that is expressing itself through Mr. Bush and Company. People who are following Bush have become entranced and have fallen asleep. What the great psychiatrist Jung would call a psychic epidemic pervades our country and world right now. If our country gives our power away to and elects a madman such as George Bush for another four years, we would in one sense be like the Germans during World War II, who, to quote Jung, “follow a mediumistic Fuhrer over the housetops with a sleep-walkers assurance, only to land in the street with a broken back.”

8. They believe they are the lost tribe of Israel
They believe tax cuts for the rich come from God. I have many relatives who are sucked up in it. My aunt believes "Armageddon" will be fought over tax cuts. They mix GOP philosophy of greed with end times revelation crap. If that isnt a cult I dont know what is...

I hear them say that phrase often. Maybe that's what they are, a culture of death... some eat bugs too.
