BL tape comes up, here are the scenarios I see from reading here a long time:
1 - Bad for bush Osama is still on the loose. Makes * look like an idiot, calls him out about sitting around reading on 9/11. Talks about * empire building, et al.
2 - Take from posts I have seen on DU over the years: A: Bush was behind 9/11, there was no caveman connection except as needed, osama did not pull of 9/11 it was all bush. B: The terrorists were reacting to our actions and so were, in a sense, justified in their actions from a moral viewpoint. Wrong, but right at the same time. So in that sense, it was osama and crew but it was understandable given our actions towards them - ie, to some extent they were like the American Indians in that we screwed them over so then it should be no suprise that they killed our people. C: bush was at fault for not paying attention to warnings, regardless of who carried out the acts we were to blame for allowing them to do it. D: Osama is not on any of these tapes, he is on ice and will be brought out before the election, the guy we see is some actor who is playing the part to help bush whip up fear/support for things like patriot act and such. E: There were no hijackers, no plane hit the pentagon. Osama we see here is not real or is lying. F: and so on.
So now I am left in a daze with all this stuff. Bush did it, did not do it, let someone else do it, mihop/lihop, this tape is bad for bush because osama is still alive, bush engineered this tape because it promotes fear and helps him win the election, and so on and so forth.
Did I miss any theories, Ideas, et al????
Bush is bad. Osama is bad. Bush did 9/11. Osama did it and bush ignored warnings. Osama had nothing to do with it and is/was a paid cia agent. There were no planes, they were holograms. There were planes but there were also exposives planted in WTC's to bring them down and a small military jet hit pentagon.
How many views do we have on all this? The right has basically one view - a bunch of american hating muslims attacked us, and osama admits as much in his latest tape. I have seen many views here and they seem to conflict at times - and while I realize we all have different views on the whole darn thing is there a predominant view (like, * was simply not on top of things and the failed policies of previous presidents led to it, and so on)?
My head is swirling again. Seems like everything is a conspiracy. Don't trust what the cia says (unless they say something you want to be true), Don't trust any of our intelligence, don't trust the media, trust some folks running website X who say what you want to believe, don't trust website X because because their uncle's sister's boyfriend once went to a doctor who treated the babysitter of a friend whose dog once went to the same vet as bush's 3rd cousin went to :) (whew, that was long).
I VALUE the input we all see here, and I am not trying to demean it (but I will poke fun at it from time to time, gotta have a sense of humor to stave off the insanity). I guess, overall, I am wondering if there is anything near an official DU take - or perhaps, is there a majority of people here which hold belief X with such a large number holding that view that it carries some weight - ie, if we have 50,000 smart users and 80% believe X then it is worth taking serious note of while not discounting the other views entirely.
