Poll question: Federal, State or Local Government?
Which do you have the most trust in?

All three have some positive and negative attributes. At times the Feds stepped in to force States to respect minorities. At other times cities have been leaders of Progressivism (Such as the anti-Patriot Act cities).

So anyway...

PS~ This thread will drop faster than bush falls off the wagon on the 2nd...

2. cities
I am not sure I would tout the benefits of city run governments. It seems to me that many of our major cities are in shambles.

3. How about in terms of efficacy? On that alone I'd say cities hands down.
If there's any goverment that one can be a part of, influence, or take over it a City.

Other issues blur my choices.

And welcome to DU!:-)

4. Federal.

State & local gov'ts are too often dominated by corporations and other criminal organizations.

Only the Federal gov't is big enough to dominate THEM. Hopefully, "you can't fool all of the people all of the time" is true.

5. Would your answer be different if it was "efficacy" instead of "trust'?
Becuase I get your general drift but on a smaller scale it's often easier to catch an ear.

7. I don't trust any one over the other...
Having worked in some capacity on a state level, and having friends who've worked local and federal, I can safely say that I can trust all three to be hopeless bureaucratic morasses inefficiently churning tons of useless paperwork (and its electronic equivalent) for every important thing they do, simply to please a menagerie of maladjusted power-mongers locked in machiavelian competition with one another. Mainly, I can trust that they all will do the job wrong, over budget, and with contempt at any who attempt to correct the situation.

8. You've obviously been treated terribly.
Having worked in Local Government I've seen a mix of efficiencies, and their opposites, same with the private sector.
