DU Question: Where did DUers get the "moran" pic? Is it a pic of an oaf
from a Chimp rally or was it taken from Freeptardville's forums? I see people referencing "moran" to freeptards with this picture, but don't quite understand where it originated:

Forgive me, DUers, if this is a repost and this question has been asked before!

1. I could be wrong but....
I thought it was from a news source (like news photos on yahoo, etc). I believe he's counter protesting Iraqi War protesters. It's been around so long, I'm questioning my memory on this one.

4. i don't believe it was mainstream
freepers LOVE to post pics of the pathetic protests and, IIRC, that is where it first surfaced.

I could also be wrong though....

5. Wasn't it from a counter-protest in the St. Louis area?
I think it was from a protest/counter-protest during a Boooosh visit to St. Louis, in early 2004.

3. It was from an Indymedia site.
I remember reading it there, and they had commentary on the pictures and talked about how none of the people rallying with him said anything to him about the mistake.

That any of that crowd knew that he had misspelled.

It is now the constant mental image I always see when 6-pack freepers are discussed.

10. sniff sniff. Woe unto me for not having such a spendid mullet.
Or that cheesy mustache, or that proud belly. And to spell like that! I guess it is time to go take that hemlock now.

11. see the gal to the right in the photo?
I remember when I saw the first photo of this it was much larger and showed most of the sign she was holding. It was a "support the troops" (pro-war) rally and her sign said free republic on it.

14. Im a Cards fan personally
this pic has singlehandedly done so much damage to the st louis label.

I actually think the "Go USA" is the funnier of the two signs. THat pic never gets old.

15. I'm sensitive to it...
Just remember folks, the anti-war protest was larger than these Morans, I should know I was there. Worse than St. Louis, I live in St. Charles, where this protest actually took place, less than 10 minutes on 370 from the Boeing plant.
