News Media Objectivity: How much corporate in newsroom ?
This is a sincere question. I have always wondered how much the newsroom is influenced by the boardroom. Does anyone knowledgeable have any information ? Any former or current media people have info ? TIA.

1. You really need to rent "Outfoxed"
http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=70002668&trkid=73

The movie shows the daily corporate memos which contain the "news-heads" talking points.

6. It applies to all of them
Some are obviously better than others. The large multinationals that run the media are in the business of making money. Their allegiance is to their stockholders - not the public interest. It is for this reason we need regulations to make sure the media does right by the public. We need to bring back the fairness doctrine and bring back limits on media ownership.

4. Tons of It: See Media Watchdog Links here
2 giant examples of tjis in recent memory would be CBS caving in on the jefferey wigand story on big tobacco in the arly 1990's, and the same once proud "tiffany network" caving in on the biopic on reagan.

to see the truth one only needs to look at who owns what.

i have a webblog with lots of media watchdog links, here you go :
