Jon Stewart - 60 Minutes
I've had some time to reflect on Jon Stewart's 60 Minutes appearance and must say I thought it was near-perfect. The Daily Show was exposed to the rest of America, Stewart compared CNN to FoxNews, the "Group of Folks??" joke was re-run, and Kroft laid a bunch of landmines which J.S. deftly avoided.

But the best part: "I can't believe we have a 'Rather-gate', when our own president led us into WAR because of faulty intelligence. Dick Cheney's COMPANY does business in IRAN...but they don't have a 'gate'".

4. Jon teases Kerry...but lashes into Bush.
Jon is completely on our side. That was a near perfect interview last night.

5. I am amazed that these broadcast people don't get it
Why are they treating Jon Stewart like a "phenomenon?" Why are they so incensed that so many people tune in The Daily Show? These days, politics IS absurd, the current admin IS absurd, and Jon points out these absurdities. The traditional media is not questioning anything about the bush* admin, but it is their job to do so---and they're surprised America is watching Jon Stewart? When an astute comedian and political pundit like Stewart draws more respect than the traditional media, that should be a wake-up call to the media. But, am not hopeful, they just don't get it.

11. Because they don't like it when someone else
is drawing attention away from their egos. The mainstream press made a decision to "service" the admin. and look what it has got them. They have no one to blame but themselves.

13. Seriously
TDS shows clips the networks don't. Like Bush bumbling and stumbling during every single press conference, while the networks conveniently endit out all the gaffes. Guess which side of Bush people would rather see? It's not rocket science.

6.  I enjoyed the "group of folks" bit but...
I wish they would shown Stewart catching someone in a lie by doing the type of fact checking the networks seem to have forgotten. Of course, that would have made them look even worse.

7. Yes...like his outing of Swift Boat vet guy
shilling for Kerry years back. That was brilliant.

8. Don't suppose anyone has it for video download?
Some of us live in areas where we can only get TV with a cable . . . and since Bush's economy, we can't afford the cable!

16. He talks about many of the same things in his C-SPAN appearance
So if you haven't seen it, try out this video link (Real Video)

If that link doesn't work, go to http://www.c-span.org and search for Jon Stewart.

17. Sigh . . .
It tells me it's loading, and then it says the server doesn't exist.

Funny, I usually have no trouble with C-SPAN.

14. I thought it could have been a LOT better, but I'll take it
I thought they did a lousy job of editing it, and portrayed him as the "funny monkey" version of Jon Stewart.

But I'm really glad they showed it anyway
