Question about the Dagger (+) in the NYtimes Best Seller's list
As we all pretty much know, Ann Coulter is the only book in the NYTimes Best Seller's list that has the notorious dagger (+) next to her listing in the book. This Dagger (+) representst that there were reports of bulk order purchases of her book from some of the bookstores. Which means someone out there is mass buying the book in order to keep her book (Michael Savage and Dick Morris also had daggers when they were in the top 10) selling well. More than likely these books will be free giveaway at KKK, whoops I mean neo-conserative/fundamentalist meetings.

Anyhow, here's my question.

Is the daggar kinda like a tattoo? Meaning once you get one you're stuck with it for life even if no one ever bulk orders the book again??!!! Or does the book get a clean slate each week and if someone reports a bulk order of the book then one is popped next to the entry, which means it would be feasible that the dagger could go away if no one bulk orders the book that week.

Plus, I'd love to see the NYTimes list just how many books (or money) was made each week - kinda like with the movies!!!

1. okay
...so every time we write the name Coulter we should write it like this: Coulter+

Eh?

Meaning that she can't make it without Papa Scaife's bulk purchases.

3. It think it's weekly
It says "Rankings reflect sales, for the week ending August 23" and "A dagger (+) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders." So since the rest of the list is tabulated from the last week, the dager should too, I would think.

4. I'm going to call the NYTimes and find out the facts
I'd like to know if it's a weekly thing or a "Once it happens you're stuck with it". I'd also like to know how many books make a bulk order. I mean, if I called my local Barnes & Noble and said I needed to order 25 copies of "Lying Liars" by Al Franken then is that a bulk order.

I really want to know the facts about the dagger. It will have to wait until after Labor Day though
