I got my flu shot yesterday

I am on the eligible list and went to my doctor's office for my shot. The office was packed. I have gotten my flu shot there for several years in a room where others were lined up for the shot. This time, the nurse came over and whispered in my ear that I could follow her. She took me into a private room, shut the door, and gave me my shot. Then I was quickly ushered out.

I guess they didn't want to start a flu shot riot.

2. My annual checkup was scheduled last week anyway.

As a senior athsmatic, I am high-risk. No big faluffle. The old geezers in the waiting room with me probably couldn't have gotten up much of a riot anyway.

I've never had a flu shot and have never had the flu.

If your doc is okay with it, then you must need it. I'm glad the nurse took care of it privately so you wouldn't have to justify it to nosy onlookers.
