Freepers mad as hell over watered-down Sinclair Broadcast Special!
Here is a quote:

"If you have Sinclair stock. Sell it first thing Monday morning.

If you know anyone that has Sinclair stock - tell them they had better sell because they will take a hit.

We need contact information for this dishonest group. E-mail addresses for everyone right up the ladder. We need to let them know clearly that we will not stand for this bullshit.

We need names, phone numbers - everything but personal addresses. Once we get them, send them everywhere and demand that they be used for response to this fraud they perpetrated on the American public.

Also, we need to write to every single local paper's editorial board and let them know what has happened here.

I've been pretty tame up until now, but this...this is just wrong."

I am tempted to send them all the phone number of the Smith family, and I am RELISHING the fact that Sinclair is now getting it from every which way.

4. Idiots.
Getting all ruffled up over something that should have been illegal, but not turning out to be enough of a witch hunt for their liking. How stupid are these 'things?'

12. I guess both sides are ticked off
I hated the Sinclair "special" last night. It was extremely biased against Kerry. For some reason I can't fathom the freepers didn't like it either - reminding me that they reside in an alternate reality where up is down.

8. LOL . . . So it's wrong for us to boycott Sinclair for showing it,
but it's okay to boycott NOT showing it?

LOL.

9. They're incredibly stupid
Sensibly, it would have made more sense if they continued to encourage Sinclair to show the rest of the special. Instead, they turn on their own.

16. Heartily agree.
They are so busy 'dividing and conquering' they have failed to realize their own fragmentation.

14. From the posts there, and from KOS, it didn't make Kerry look bad
enough, apparently.

13. Yes, this is an excellent opportunity to put SBG out of business
Strike while the freepers are mad. In a day or two SBG will probably think of something to show that will redeem them in the freeper's eyes. This show was biased enough against Kerry. I can't imagine how bad an openly partisan show against him would be. Let's not give Sinclair a chance to find out.

18. This highlights why businesses should stay out of pollitics
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 04:24 PM by SoCalDem
It's a lose-lose. Whichever candidate they openly favor, they will piss off half of their customers.

What they do with their personal money is one thing, but when a CEO or boss puts his business into the political fray, he endangers the livelihoods of all his employees.

Once he has stated the support, and the business suffers, layoffs and perhaps even the loss of the business can happen.

Sinclair is a prime example.. They have managed to piss off BOTH sides. They have actually damaged BOTH candidates in the process..and for what??

What did they actually gain??

If Bush gets back in, they will have favorable treatment at the FCC, BUT there will be legal challenges to fight off, and they might even end up losing some licenses over this episode..

They have pissed off almost ALL of their stockholders, and have weakened their standing in the financial community..

Their sponsors are probably gun-shy at best..

It would be no great loss if they failed completely, except for their employees , who need that paycheck.
