1. My parents are at high risk and can't get the vaccine.
I don't care if Bush refuses the vaccine - my question is if his parents were able to get it. I guess as longs as his friends are taken care of, he doesn't care about the rest of us.

3. The craziest thing I've heard so far about flu vaccine shortages...
Was from my fiance's mom, a staunch Bushie. My fiance asked her mom if she was planning on getting a flu shot soon, as she was worried about the shortage and her mom's age and vulnerability. Her mom's reply: "Oh there's no shortage, it's just politics."

Can you say "Clueless?"

4. Flu terror
One of the first things I thought about when I heard about the vaccine shortage was how easy it would be for terrorists to catch the flu and ride on crowded public transportation in big cities like Washington, New York, and Chicago. Between 20-30,000 people die in a typical year from the flu in this country; a planned attack could easily increase that number by three times -- killing 20X more people than 911!

Sure enough early this week I rode the Metro in Washington, DC. It was rush hour and the train was cheek-to-jowl crowded. I'm tall so I could sort of see over the guy next me and I saw a brown-skinned man sweating profusely. When the train stopped I could make out his distinctly Arab-looking features. He was about 30 years old, handsome, and looked like a nice guy. He didn't look sick. Nevertheless it made me feel very uncomfortable...
