Please help me, please British people ask Mr. (British Prime Minister Tony) Blair to pull the troops from Iraq and not bring them to Baghdad.

"Please, please I beg of you, the British people, to help me. I don't want to die like (Kenneth) Bigley. I beg of you, I beg of you."

 I have no words......

1. America is so ethnocentric, we have no idea why these people would
do this.

Sure they hate America, but it's not just for our freedom. Maybe if middle America knew that, we wouldn't be there.

This is worse than a train wreck.

Not sure how americans will react to video or the news of this woman getting butchered live.

I think her bloody execution will be the Madrid Train Bombing before the election.

32. Nah, Bush reached his low point with the first execution video.
The desecration of the bodies in Fallujah was the start of the public turning against Bush's Iraq policy. Images like this erode his approval ratings and support for the war. There is no comparison between public reaction to a report from Iraq that proves how screwed up Bush's war is, and an attack here in the US, that would have the opposite effect. Graphic images of the shitstorm in Iraq always make Bush look bad because they prove he's lying when he says everything is going great over there.

7. Oh, God
This is horrible and I abhor the tactic being used. It's sub-human.

Hubby and I had a discussion about this when they first started abducting/beheadings. I can't imagine being in such a terrifying situation. As much as I'd want to live, be able to live out my life with my family, I'd like to think that I would have the courage to say do not negotiate. Chances are, I'd be killed anyway and negotiating would only fuel the fire for more innocent people to go through a similar, horrifying ordeal.

Bush should not have created this hell hole and must be held responsible. Him and all of the people he appointed that put this into play!

God, I feel for this woman's family and the heartwrenching reality they have to face.

8. Why did these dumb fucks kidnap HER?
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 12:01 PM by HalfManHalfBiscuit
She has worked as an advocate for the Iraqi people for decades. She considers herself an Iraqi. She is their friend, not their enemy.

If they kill her, they can't claim a cause. They will just be psychopaths who enjoy killing people.

19. Which is why you have to ask who kidnapped her.
Obviously the Iraqi resistance would have no motive for killing her.

34. Agreed. It has long seemed to me that some (not all) of these
'terrorists' might be provocateurs, maybe the long-fabled 'CIA within the CIA', out to show the enemy to be inhuman beasts who must be exterminated without quarter. Certainly,it could be the so-called foreign fighters, who have shown little regard for Iraqi civilians, but to what end? She is no collaborator to be made an example of. She was not brought in from exile, with the exiles, to aid the takeover.

Any target of kidnapping must be weighed against the risks, however minimal, of the operation. They don't just grab people at random.

So why her?

They will kill her and say its punishment for US and British tropps occupying Iraq.

I can think of two drastically different groups who would be interested in doing this, and neither are the Iraqi resistance.

10. "Mission Accomplished", "Bring it on!" The price of hubris.
Bush is still waiting for the throngs of cheering Iraqis that are so delighted to have us subjugating their country.

Not to mention Blair getting doggie bone from the Glorious Leader at the cost of his own citizens.

11. Send that picture to Mr. bush to put on his dresser and another
one for his desk in the oval office. Oh never mind...it wouldn't do any good. I can just imagine him saying with pursed lips, "Please please, don't kill me".

Seriously...I feel so sorry for that poor woman. How can anyone experience such fear? God bless her!

13. I don't understand why they took her anyway?
I mean, she was doing actual humnanitarian work for the iraqis. She has long been one of thier advocates. I can't see the iraqi population's response to this as being anything other then negative and the insurgents need the iraqi people's support to survive. I beleive that she is even an iraqi citizen

Are the insurgents as stupid as Shrub is in that they kill thier friends as quickly as thier enemies?

it just seems th ewhole point of this war for both sides is to just kill as horrificily as possible,

26. I wish we knew how the press in Iraq is reporting this
If she's generally respected there, sympathy for her could sway public opinion.

The old question, "who profits", is easy to overlook.

27. Tony Blair or Bu$h should be stand up guys and offer to take her place.
And let her go free. They are fully responsible for her situation.

That is what a real leader would do.

You can bet all British troops would be drinking beer in their local pubs by the end of the week.

The only value Bu$h and Blair place on human life is as expendable cannon fodder to be used to boost corporate profits.
