Does this have Karl Roves finger prints on it?
Can Karl Rove fudge these numbers?

That helped the president narrow the still sizable gap with Kerry among blacks, who preferred the four-term Massachusetts senator over Bush, 69 percent to 18 percent. The group's poll before the 2000 election found Gore with a 74 percent to 9 percent lead over Bush.

2. IMHO, a bogus report. This is the same group that reported that...
...blacks by a small majority supported vouchers, without ALSO reporting on a closely related issue that they wanted more spending in support of the public school systems.

Statement of NEA President Reg Weaver on Findings By The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies
<http://www.nea.org/newsreleases/2003/nr030514.html>

Excerpts:

In recent years, one of the Center's findings has been cited time and time again - the idea that African Americans are more likely to support school vouchers than are white Americans. In fact, the most recent findings by the Center have found that opposition to vouchers increased from 37% to 43% compared to their findings two years ago - while confidence in public schools has risen.

Getting a sense of perceptions through polling is useful. But those who use polling alone to determine what people want are not getting the whole story - especially when they look at questions without consideration for wording or presentation, or in isolation of other influences.

...snip...

Let me address the first issue first. The Center's findings show that by a small majority, African Americans say they support vouchers. If we accept that, we ought then to also look at the overwhelming numbers of African Americans who believe that we spend too little in support of public schools. About 81 percent of African Americans believe we spend too little for education.

It would be hypocritical to point to the numbers in support of vouchers without also pointing out that what African Americans really want is additional resources to support effective programs in the public schools that their children attend. Every parent wants the same thing for their child - a good school in their neighborhood. A school that is safe and conducive to learning, with fully qualified teachers, small classes, and access to up-to-date books and materials.

4. Rove doesn't do everything personally, you know...
He's smart enough to have lackeys to take the fall for him, especially since the Plame thingee.

6. He is like a big time drug dealer!
It is to the point where he don't even get his hands dirty. He is never seen with the product (story), he has all of his runners (lackeys) handling all of his dirty business. Everyone knows he does dirty but, no one can ever directly connect the two, Rove and the dirt!

5. Survey: Bush support doubles among blacks, but Kerry still leads
David Bositis, the Joint Center's political analyst and senior research associate, attributed Bush's growth among blacks to an increase in support among Christian conservatives. Bositis speculated that Bush's faith-based initiative and the emergence this year of gay marriage as an issue were factors.

But Bositis also cautioned against using the survey as a guide to how blacks will vote in this year's election. He noted that the survey polled a sample group of blacks, not just likely or registered voters.

Ronald Walters, director of the African American Leadership Institute at the University of Maryland, also played down the survey's significance. He noted that while Gore had 74% support among blacks in the Joint Center's 2000 survey, exit polls showed him winning 90% of the black vote on Election Day.

7. I would expect that from AssKKKroft's hometown newspaper
And mine, unfortunately. They are part of the RW problem. They are always endorsing pukes in that rag. Irony: My father won't take that paper...because they are librul media.
