What is the DU's opinion of Team America: World Police?
I just saw it and well, it portrayed liberals pretty badly. That and a mix of very crude humor I did not find it very funny. What did you think?

1. That's what I've heard, too.
I'm not going to waste 10 bucks to go see it at the theater. I might turn it on once it's on HBO or something.

And welcome to DU!! :hi:

4. There are funny parts

I love the songs. I found the overtly jingoistic crash carting across the globe as fun and "believable". The overtly gratuitous violence, even by South Park standards showed, a fear and loathing of actors and Michael Moore at whom it was directed, disturbing. there were no shots of Bush, Limbaugh, Ann Coulter or Rove getting brains splattered so there is a bias. I have upped my grade to a "C".

5. I have to agree
The songs were very funny and witty but, I dont really understand the whole conservative complaint about celebrities being political. Dont they have that right? I dont really get their basis of it.

6. I loved it. It was tough on liberal celebs and US jingoism, but so what?
It's gross, harsh, goofy humor. I have no problem laughing at our own side of politics. I'm not bothered by a puppet's political POV. There's not exactly a lot of celebrities getting into the middle of the North Korean crisis anyway. For that matter, there's not a lot of administration officials trying to do anything about North Korea either. The jokes on Michael Moore were mostly about his fatness.

It was mostly silly.
