Description: Rock band musician, Krist Novoselic and activist Mark Andersen talk about the importance of youth voting at Politics and Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC. Mr. Novoselic, author of "Of Grunge and Government," calls for young people to engage themselves in the American pllitical system, and Mr. Andersen, author of "All the Power," challenges youth to consider a form of radical activism. After the discussion, both authors answer questions from the audience.
Author Bio: Krist Novoselic was a founding member of the rock band Nirvana. "Of Grunge and Government" is his first book. Mark Andersen is the co-author of "Dance of Days: Two Decades of Punk in the Nation's Capital." He is a community organizer and outreach worker with Emmaus Services for the Aging, a nonprofit that aids seniors in Washington, DC.

Description: Columnist and author Molly Ivins spoke about her book, "Bushwhacked: Life in George W. Bush's America," at the Free Library of Philadelphia. She talks about living in Texas during then Governor Bush's term, as well as her take on the current state of American politics during the Bush Presidency. Ms. Ivins tells some stories about her experiences with politics and politicians from local Texas councilmen to the President of the United States.
Author Bio: Molly Ivins is a syndicated columnist whose work appears in 114 newspapers, former co-editor of the liberal monthly Texas Observer, and former Rocky Mountain bureau chief for the New York Times. Description: From the campus of UCLA in Southern California, Michael Moore addresses students and faculty. The UCLA appearance was part of Michael Moore's "Slacker Uprising Tour," a 60-city tour -- primarily to swing states -- with the goal of encouraging young people to vote for Sen. John Kerry in November's presidential election. During the presentation, Mr. Moore reads from his new book "Will They Ever Trust Us Again?: Letters from the War Zone." Although C-SPAN cameras were earlier approved to shoot this event in its entirety, Michael Moore's staff had our cameras removed after 15 minutes, citing Mr. Moore's poor health. C-SPAN will air as much of the program as we were allowed to record.
