John Dean suggests GAO "horrified" at Cheney's "shocking" cover-up!!
He suggests that Herr Cheney's misleading, disinformation campaign was intended to cover-up something terribly sinister - hints that he KNOWS what it is!!!

2. I wish Howard Dean and Wesley Clark would hammer Cheney, Rumsfeld
Rove and Ashcroft - rather than just the fool puppet!! Rumsfeld's fascist face should be enough to turn voters' stomachs (not that the other faces aren't also incredibly repulsive!!)

3. this is disturbing, and typical...
... since they stepped foot back in Washington, the Bush administration has systematically avoided any type of accountability, operated in complete secrecy, Americans don't give a rip. Sad.

4. Wasn't Dean going to out Deep Throat back in June?
Whatever happened to that, anyway?

So, Crash Cart lied to Congress. I'll bet a dollar to a hole in a doughnut he wasn't under oath, so they can't nail him for perjury.

5. I think they can. Those responses to his discovery requests are
in the form of sworn statements.

7. Superb Article, EP!
The Sierra Club and, as well, Larry Klayman will help disseminate this further.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention here at the DU.

Have a great weekend, ElementaryPenguin...singin' Hare Krisna! :hi:

16. I think that is worse...
but only produced a "yawn" from everyone. If you ask me, it makes it look as if Cheney with the blessing of Kenny Boy Lay, etc. pushed us to war in order for his former company to make a big fat profit.

Cheney, who served as CEO from 1995 to 2000, continues to receive as much as $1 million a year in deferred compensation as Halliburton executives enjoy a seat at the table during Administration discussions over how to handle post-war oil production in Iraq.

When he left Halliburton to become VP he recieved a retirement package worth $26,000,000.

Like other big defense contractors, Halliburton is a major campaign contributor, mainly to the Republican party.

Cheney sold a lot of his stock and options but I beleive he may still own some - and it is in a "blind trust"

http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20030828-052216-8256r.htm
WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- The Washington Post says Halliburton, the company formerly headed by Vice President Dick Cheney, has won more than $1.7 billion in government contracts.

The contracts were issued under Operation Iraqi Freedom, but the newspaper said Halliburton stands to make hundreds of millions more dollars under a no-bid contract awarded by the Army Corps of Engineers.

12. I hope all this "polite" evidence is being quietly compiled for one BIG
GRAND finale, when they are all rounded up and thrown into their very own GITMO. And while they are at it, they should be joined by the Enron thieves and a long line of others who either directly or indirectly conspired to rape America and assault her honor, dignity, rights and bank accounts.

wouldn't it be nice to release a whole dumpster load of incriminating evidence at the same time Kay releases his WMD report?

17. Great article
Let's just hope the rest of the media picks up on this as well. John Dean has written several scathing articles(in the archives at Findlaws) about b... and his group of liars.

On a side note, Dean has been very critical of the media for not picking up on the lies of this administration. He feels the major media outlets are more concerned with their stockholders, as opposed to doing investigative reporting in an effort to find out the truth. I guess unless there is sex or a car chase it's not newsworthy.
