Is Iraq headed toward civil war?
This is CNN's question of the day:

And a good question. The latest count says there are 124 dead from the car bomb in Najaf, the holy city. They have made a martyr out of a leading Shiite ayatollah, whose brother just happens to be on the Iraqi Governing Council. (IGC) As you read this, there is pandemondium at the hospital because of untold injuries. Anger and revenge will be the order of the day.

They are blaming the US for lack of security. They are blaming Israel because they are "Israel". They are blaming Saddam's Baathists because Saddam had run this ayatollah out of the country and into Iran. They are blaming a rival Shiite group led by Ayotollah al Sadr. They are blaming the Sunnis. Where will it end?

Obviously, we need to get someone in there quickly and get the Americans out...

1. Whistle OTOH, is blaming...Saddam!
And you'll hear that a lot these days. It was furriners at one point.
The country was peaceful, functional and terrorism free before W stepped in. Then, like he did to US, it all went to the dogs.

4. one thing that sucks..
Is that nomatter how this ends.. the situation for women will get worse then it was under Saddam.

I read that the students at universities under Saddam was 50% women.. now even in the best case scenario and we do bring in some weird goverment and create some order in iraq im sure it will become ALOT more "islamic" for the women.. harassing etc if they dont wear veils.. etc etc

3. Remember the image of our last helicopter leaving our Vietnam embassy?
We're gonna see the same image in no less than a couple of years. After a brutal civil war between the shiites and kurds. I'm guessing the shiites will win and establish the Islamic Republic of Iraq, and will be terrorist central for any attacks on America, plus they will be the puppets of Iran because now Iran won't be alone as the only shiite theocracy.

5. Exactly, which was predicted by everyone who even studied
the situation in passing before the invasion.

It's why King George the first didn't "go to Baghadad"
It's why Clinton chose "containment".

It's why millions of people were protesting against this idiocy.
